I am a little worried about the following. Please set me straight! |
Thursday night I was watching BBC news and they had a room filled with undecided or independent voters (I don't know which as I kind of caught the end of it.) They asked everyone who they thought had won the debate and almost the whole room raised their hands. Then they asked them who they now plan to vote for and most of them raised their hands for Bush. It was totally strange and left me a little sick to my stomach. Now this new Zogby poll comes out and says that Bush has shored up his support among Republicans and independents. How on earth does someone win three debates then drop in support? Please show me some other polls that contradict Zogby and please tell me I missed an important part of that BBC broadcast. Sorry to bring this up but I need someone to ease my mind. Thanks

2. The US has been killing lots of Iraqis. If you look back over the polls |
you will see that his numbers consistently go up when US media reports "aggressive operations."

too bad the u.s. media isn't reporting that http://icasualties.org/oif/Details.aspxnot that it compares to the number of iraqis killed in our attacks on 'insurgent strongholds'

into believing he is the father figure, who like O'Reilly, is out there to "look out for us". They are both snake oil salesmen.

7. CNN had a focus group that was nearly the opposite... |
showing more people breaking for Kerry. I believe the breakdown was 10 Kerry, 7 Bush, and 7 still undecided. The bottom line is, there will be variations from focus group to focus group, especially when we're talking about a divided country, so I wouldn't put much stock in that.

9. Frank Luntz, the Republican spinmeister, "ran" the BBC group. |
The outcome on that one was never in doubt. Luntz is a GOP operative that for some reason the "liberal" media uses without mentioning that fact.
