internal memo story and JK's "Lesbian" remark are getting bigtime play on cable news. But the rub is, you can't report either without constantly reminding everyone of REPUBLICAN VOTER FRAUD & the fact that CHENEY'S DAUGHTER IS A LESBIAN.

2. The remark about Mary Cheney isn't getting traction
It's strictly a news-wonks' and political junkies' dust-up. Very few people "on the street" care about it at all.

My mother signs people up to vote at one of the license places. Most people who come in talk politics, and many bash Bush. She hasn't heard even one person bring it up yet.

Best of all, the gays and lesbians are publically mocking the GOP for its feigned outrage.

3. Its not killing us
the media says its killing us,but the fact is the Republican base doesn't like gays they will never vote Democrat but some of them will stay home,on top of that people are asking why is she ashamed of her daughter, what is so wrong with commenting about someone who is openly gay,the Truth is nothing.the GOP is grabbing at straw men.

4. They're letting the administration's media lap dogs do what they
do best: repeat these two points over & over & over until the sheeple are effectively brainwashed.

Kerry or Edwards don't have to even mention it again: they've beaten Rove at his own game by letting the two talking points ride the media wave Rove trained so well.

5. You kiddng? If not, you should have seen Repub. Bob Barr on TV today say
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 02:30 AM by henslee
that with the economy and the Iraq both unquallified disasters and with our personal freedoms under attack by the Patriot act, this whole Cheney daughter thing is the dumbest thing to be talking about for either side. And maybe you read this. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-carlson15oct15,1,697084.story?coll=la-news-comm%20ent-opinions

As far as voter fraud goes, let's talk about it all day long. It's a Republican tactic. Everyone else wants to respect the constitution. Everyone else wants everyone to vote.

Welcome to DU. (edited)

7. I know at least one fundie..
who isn't going to vote for Bush because of "Cheney's lesbian daughter" and the fact that she works for the Bush/Cheney campaign.

She's not going to vote for Kerry, of course, but having this headcase stay home is a victory.

Every single gay person I know is far more annoyed by the GOP's and media's false outrage than by Kerry's comment.

The issue is helping us, though I do think it's past time to talk about something else.
