How do things look on the ground in Ohio?
I am just curious-- I am so hopeful that Kerry will win there. Thanks.

1. Pretty surprising actually
I live in a heavily Repub area and there are tons of K/E signs. Phone banks and canvassing have been organized which had never been done before as far as I know. Going into stores in my area, sw ohio, and in other parts of the state, I have gotten positive comments about the K/E buttons on my coat, shirt, etc. From what I've seen, democratic signs for example, in formerly strong repub areas, it makes me feel very encouraged about Kerry's chance to take Ohio back.

4. We've registered a TON of voters.
Mostly 18-25 year-olds, and even a few older people who haven't had an interest in voting for a long damn time (if ever). We have a shuttle service ready to go for the old-timers and also for those who just don't drive for whatever reason. At this point, I don't know what else we can do....Just show up in a few weeks and cross our fingers.

If I went on "gut feeling" alone, I'd say that we have it in the bag. Who knows what's going to happen, though... After the election, I'm going to sleep for a week, regardless of the outcome.

I'm so tired. Drained emotionally. I'm going to need a break from politics and news very soon. Maybe I'll even try to stop smoking next month.
