Something we all can do
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 06:52 AM by Onlooker
Go to our email, where we not only have friends and family, but also colleagues, associates, acquaintances, and so on, and figure out a way to put in a pitch for Kerry.

To my dentist, after setting up an appointment, I wrote:

I hope Kerry's interest in health care carries over to dental care. I know this: Bush, like his father, does not pay much attention to what goes on at home.

In an email to my contact where my 401K is, I wrote, among other things:

I have decided to vote for Kerry because we need a Clinton economic boon if I'm to have a shot at making up for the losses I incurred over the last 4 years.

If you think this is a good idea, maybe add a suggeston to this thread to send to others, like shrinks, plumbers, electricians, hair dressers, and so on.

1. "Why Conservatives Must Not Vote For Bush"
Print this out and give it to Bush voters, that way you don't have to talk to them and drive yourself nuts. If this article doesn't do it, nothing will anyway.

Whole article is here, ready to print, no doing the free thing required.

3. I disagree. Go after "low-hanging fruit" first
There's a business expression about low-hanging fruit: it's easy and plentiful, and why waste your time going to the top of the tree where the pickings are slim? You can get to that later.

My point: we WIN if the voter turnout is high. Period. End of sentence.

So everybody's number one priority should be to either go canvassing (which is really fun, if you've never done it, you should), make phone calls, or if you don't have free time: DONATE to get-out-the-vote dem efforts.

Think about an apartment complex in your area: There are waaaay more dem votes in that apartment alone than all the people you know, combined, even if you COULD magically get them all to switch their vote. And remember, getting people to change their affiliation is like getting people to change their religion, no small task!

Get out the vote --- think of it as cancelling the vote of every repub you know!
