Wing nut LTTE: The flu vaccine shortage is proof that Kerry's plan is bad
The flu vaccine shortage is proof that Kerry's plan is bad
After reading your Oct. 11 editorial on the shortage of flu vaccine ("Painful Shot"), I can't help but draw painful similarities between this situation and the "plan" that Sen. John Kerry has for health care.

Kerry expounds on the merits of importing prescription drugs from other countries, especially Canada. The PG considers it "unacceptable that a foreign country could have this much power over the supply of critical medication to the American people."

Kerry plans on limiting the ability of big drug companies to make a profit. Yet, as the PG says, "There aren't enough vaccine manufacturers, partly because pharmaceutical companies prefer to make more profitable drugs."

This is rich. The wing nuts have moved on from blaming every Bush screw-up on Clinton, to blaming every current Bush screw-up on what Kerry might do in the future.

1. This mess in Iraq is just a foreshadowing
of what would happen if Kerry were put in charge.

3. It's not Kerry's fault.
Hillary singlehandedly is responsible for everyone who gets the flu this year. From another board:

"Do we want to turn our healthcare system over to our government? Hillary pushed this to the point of resulting in shortage of flu vaccines in the United States."

4. Stupidest thing ever
I'm glad there's some other letters in there to offset this stupidity. Stupidity just doesn't seem to cover it. Is there some other word for mindless as a slug? Gads. Bush is going to get flu vaccine from Canada. What the hell is wrong with this guy?

5. Kerry's health plan? They're blaming Kerry?!

Jeez.
Rich repukes are evil. And poor repukes are so blasted stupid.
Hey 'pukes...what's your chimp got for his dream health plan? Health savings accounts. "Instead of paying for insurance you keep that money, and if you get sick, there ya go! That's ownership!"
Well, thanks to rich repukes we've got a vaccine shortage. What happened right off the bat? Price-gouging, that's what.
What happens to your "personal health savings account" when the price of a plain old flu shot for your family jumps unexpectedly from fifty bucks to five hundred bucks?
Why, I imagine you and your family will be skipping the flu shots and taking your chances with the disease, since you can't blow $500 for flu shots when a broken leg or some other misfortune may await you next month.
The rich repukes will commend you for your wise "choice"...right after they get their family's flu shots.

My scenario above is probably riddled with holes, but thinking about it made my sleep a bit uneasy last night. :eyes:
