Friend went from bush column to no-vote now will vote for Kerry. |
|
a friend of mine who is a lifelong repub, actually his whole family is, is now voting for kerry!
in the past 5-6 months he's went from solid bush supporter, then to weak bush guy when iraq started to really go to hell in the early spring and was actually embarrased for bush after that press conference where he could not think of one thing he'd done wrong...then by the summer he was just not going to vote out of protest becuase he still couldn't bring himself to vote for kerry...
it was the tide of the debates that really pushed him...he was ashamed of bush after the first debate and his respect for kerry went up dramatically...he said he had been lied to by the repubs about kerry being a wishy washy effette liberal, but it took me playing fahrenheit 9/11 to finally put him solidly in the kerry camp.
he's now enthusiastically voting for kerry and convincing the rest of his family and friends to do the same...chalk up another small personal victory for me.
i hope this same thing is happening all over the counrty...i feel change is in the air.

5. I'm in baltimore MD, my friend is the more bush friendly suburbs |
|
we're def not in a swing state even though some absurd poll had MD tied a few weeks ago, anyhow i gave him a stack of campign literature, he's really trying to win over his dad now...who is thoroughly demoralized with bushco, but not quite ready to break with 40 years of voting repub...i think we'll be able to get him before the election.

3. Great, I was at a party last weekend given by my daughter-in-law.... |
|
...whose family including her and my son are all republican. Her oldest brother is an MD and highly respected surgeon in the community. He was advising all of the family on how to vote not only for president Bush but the various amendments on the ballot as well (especially Florida amendment 3). I was almost taken out to the front lawn and hung from a tree for suggesting that maybe Kerry/Edwards plan for controlling frivolous medical lawsuits would make a lot more sense than making it impossible for a family to sue for malpractice.

...and it's about me personally. I am a registered repub (although now consider myself an independent) and have voted the republican ticket in every election since Reagan.
However, I now watch in disbelief as this administration runs roughshod over our constitution, twists and folds the truth like some kind of origami, uses "fear and smear" tactics to maintain its grasp on power, and implements policies that are clearly counterproductive to our interests as a nation.
I will be voting for Kerry this election, and I know of a few other folks who will be doing the same. I truly believe that this is the most importand election of my lifetime. Kerry in 2004!

and thanks for your support...bushco is more like a cult than any administration i have ever seen..and it's infecting the repub party as a whole...i hope for their sake that they can purge themselves of the bushco disease that includes lying, dishonesty, crony capitalism, fear and smear and breaking with decades of even-handed and fairly contiguous international policy.

Bush looked like such a goon in those debates, you'd have to be a full-fledged, fully programmed Bush Cult Member to think otherwise..
I heard Rush screaming: HE'S NOTHING BUT A SLICK DEBATER! As if it was a very shameful thing to win the debates.

9. interesting, 6 months of feeding these people |
|
that is where i have been months of talking and talking and they fighting against the words given. and then show the f911 movie and zap, that does it, lol lol. i thought f911 tide came too early in june and july, that it wouldnt hold, and that we need another showing now. looking like this could be it. if we could get people to see the movie, that can be the turn.
good for you. and thrilled. and yes, these are the people that are going to bring their fellow people over. and much quicker. they know how to talk to them, they know the lie that convinced them of bush, they will know how to talk to the others,
good stuff
