Swift Boat Vets and Terrorism should be Kerry's focus in home stretch |
|

I think after winning all three debates Kerry has shown he has a better handle on the issues. He now leads on health care, the economy and domestic issues. I think now he needs to work on how he would handle terrorism and go after the swift boat veterans as though they were George Bush himself! The swift boat liars are running ads CONSTANTLY! I am talking every fifteen minutes and they are getting worse and worse.
Kerry has two ads here in New Mexico that do build up his character but I think they could be better. One has a general in charge of the New Mexico National Guard talk about why he believes in John Kerry's character. Another one has the wife of a Vietnam soldier who was killed talk about why her husband respected Kerry and why she felt she does. This is a good ad but we need more. I would like to see a DIRECT attack on John O'Neil and show photos of him with Richard Nixon and talk about how he was for staying in Vietnam which would have ended up with thousands of more US Soldiers being killed. People need to be educated about what John Kerry actually did when he protested the Vietnam War and that all these war crimes were true and much worse than what we saw in the Iraq prison. I know a lot of you will say we need to forget about the Swift Vets but I think they are still doing more damage to Kerry than anything Bush is saying because they run constantly and you have all these guys looking at you in the eye telling you how they were in a prison camp being tortured while Kerry was meeting with the enemy. Anything the Kerry campaign does would also help combat the Sinclair movie.
I also think Kerry needs to talk CONSTANTLY about how invading Iraq has created MORE terrorism! Give out statistics and quote how people around the world by huge numbers think the Iraq war has created more terrorism. He needs to take the safety issue away from Bush and put Bush back on the defensive on his one strong issue. I think Kerry fell short on this during the debates as he let Bush keep saying we had killed 75% of Al Quada leaders. Kerry said nothing to give people reason to doubt Al Quada was weaker.

But also, hopefully the Swift Vote Veterans for Lies will cause voter fatigue and an opposite reaction if they are really being rammed down viewers throats as you describe. I am in Connecticut; and feel left out since we're not a swing state.

2. Kerry did well on CNN yesterday pointing out that Iraq had no terrorism |

He was good in that Candy Crowley interview explaining how Iraq did not have terrorism before but is now a hotbed for terrorism, due to Bush failures. I wish CNN would show more clips of that segment.
I agree that the campaign needs to fight hard and powerfully address the Swiftliars October Surprise accusing him of hurting POW's and being a traitor. Kerry has already asked Sinclair for equal time not controlled by Sinclair's agenda which Sinclair has refused to give him (those fascists want him to have to spend his own money on ads instead) I am sure the campaign is very busy this weekend working on their strategy to counterract the Swiftliars.
About all we can do is write letters to the editor, send emails and donate money to the DNC and work on getting out the vote. I took people to the polls yesterday, made another big donation and am getting busy on some letters today. Thanks for posting
