Go hear General McPeak
Yesterday General Merrill "Tony" McPeak returned to southern Oregon where he grew up. He landed his two-seat experimental plane without fanfare within an hour of Air Force One's escape from our not so supportive community. McPeak's address to local veterans and others was the perfect end to a week that saw John Edwards, General Tommy Franks, Jim Rassmann and the Idiot-in-Chief himself. This man, who led the U.S. Air Force in the Gulf War, gave us a refreshing dose of unvarnished truth that no politician could. His assessment of John Kerry was eloquent and moving. He will be hitting the battleground states until November 2. If you have the chance, go hear him and take a Republican friend with you. No, take several.

1. Glad to hear he's out there campaigning for Kerry.
Seems like a really smart guy. I'm not in a swing state, but I would jump at the opportunity to hear him speak if he was ever in my area.

2. Thanks!
Being in Texas, I won't get a chance to hear the General, but it's nice to know what is happening elsewhere. I'm glad to hear about Jim Rassmann, too. I was impressed with him at the DNC, but we haven't seen much of him on the SCLM since that time (except for when he accompanied Max Cleland to Crawford). I'm getting tired (to put it mildly) of having my news censored by the media!!
