My question for Dick Cheney: Did your wife CHOOSE to be a heartless bitch
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 11:47 AM by dolstein
or was she BORN that way?

This woman is absolutely shameless. To borrow her own words, I've had the opportunity to size up Mrs. Cheney. And she's a bad, BAD woman. And I saw that not just as a Democrat, but as an American, and a voter.

1. The only reason they feigned outrage was because they knew Karl
was testifying on Friday. Rather than responding other Dems should have taken the lead from MCAuliffe. Besides, what kind of parents SUPPORT an amendment to the constitution to discriminate against their own daughter. I understand Cheney DANCED around the issue by supporting his president, but it isn't good enough. Mary is their child and they allowed Bush to USE her.

2. EVERYONE grabbed hold of this because
out of all the debates, it was the only thing kerry said that could be dramatized in such a way. the only time anything out of his mouth could be used for contraversy. that is why everone made such a big deal. because kerry was nigh perfect

Where was her "mother's outrage" when Keyes called Mary a selfish hedonist??

Plus, if her idea of a "good man" is her husband, give me a "bad, bad man" any day!!!

These people are less than pond scum :puke: :puke:

10. If i were Mary Cheney-
i'd divorce my family-

They are using her- and she's allowing herself to be 'used' by them-
how sad-

Lynne Cheney is a cruel, lying DOB-

<snip>
"Of course, I am speaking as a mom, and a pretty indignant mom," she said.
"What a cheap and tawdry political trick."

It's unclear what trick Cheney was referring to or why it was offensive. Her
daughter, Mary, is indeed out of the closet and has been for a long time.
She even works on her father's campaign as a top adviser, earning a reported
$100,000 US.

But it's clear that Lynne may have had some trouble accepting her daughter's
sexuality. When ABC reporter Cokie Roberts asked her about Mary being openly
gay four years ago, Cheney denied it, saying "My daughter has never declared
such a thing."

Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic vice presidential candidate John
Edwards said Lynne Cheney's response "indicates a certain degree of shame
with respect to her daughter's sexual preferences."

When Dick Cheney spoke to reporters after Kerry's remark he said of Kerry
"You saw a man who will do and say anything to get elected, and I am not
just speaking as a father here, although I am a pretty angry father."

Kerry also issued a statement after the story broke, saying "I love my
daughters. They love their daughter. I was trying to say something positive
about the way strong families deal with this issue."

11. When my dad was director of a museum
in TX, he had to deal with Mrs. crashcart upon occasion, and he has said that she is the coldest, most heartless bitch he's ever had to deal with. He thinks she is even more evil than her husband, if you can believe that.

just another unbiased opinion, of course...

14. I bet Lynne Cheney is STILL pissed
about having to get knocked up by Dick in order for him to get a draft deferment. I imagine she had "other priorities" herself...being a mother probably wasn't one of them.

15. Statement by Log Cabin Executive Director Patrick Guerriero
Considering that none of the major candidates support full equal rights for gays and lesbians, including same sex marriage, all I see here is a lot of phony outrage from both sides.

Have we forgotten that Democrats as well as Republicans voted for the apartheid DOMA, and that Clinton signed it? Have we forgotten Clinton's betrayal with his "don't ask, don't tell" policy that has led to an explosion of homophobic witchhunts?

How ironic that the most sensible and balanced statement was made by a Republican gay activist group!

Log Cabin Republicans Statement on Senator Kerry's Comments Regarding Mary Cheney

Statement by Log Cabin Executive Director Patrick Guerriero

(Washington, DC)—"Senator Kerry could have made his point about gay and lesbian Americans without mentioning the Vice-President's daughter.

However, this shouldn't distract us from the fact that President Bush, Karl Rove and other Republicans have been using gay and lesbian families as a political wedge issue in this campaign.

Log Cabin Republicans have a message for both campaigns. For Senator Kerry and Senator Edwards, you do not need to talk about the Vice President's daughter in order to discuss your positions on gay and lesbian issues. For President Bush and Karl Rove, you have a moral obligation to stop using gay and lesbian families as a political wedge issue. Our country and our party deserve better."
