Nov3rd Pledge of Action to Stop A Stolen Election
Pledge of Action to Stop A Stolen Election
"I remember the stolen presidential election of 2000 and I am willing to take action in 2004 if the election is stolen again. I support efforts to protect the right to vote leading up to and on Election Day, November 2nd. If that right is systematically violated, I pledge to join nationwide protests starting on November 3rd, either in my community, in the states where the fraud occurred, or in Washington DC."

Our Purpose

We all remember the votes that were never counted in Florida 2000. While we are all working hard for a positive outcome on November 2nd, we also have to be prepared for a repeat of a 2000 stolen election. By signing the No Stolen Election pledge, you will be joining with thousands of others in the November 3rd Urgent Response Network. Please sign the pledge and pass it around far and wide.

We have established a Fair Elections Advisory Council made up of US and international elections experts who will give us their assessment on election day itself. If they find significant fraud, we will activate the Urgent Response Network on or immediately after November 3rd, calling on people everywhere to engage in protest, including non-violent civil disobedience, in front of their local federal buildings and other appropriate places. We will also be asking those who can to converge in the states where the most serious fraud occurred, as well as in Washington DC.

In addition to signing the pledge, please work with other people and groups in your area to protect the vote on Election Day on November 2nd and to build the Urgent Response Network. Pick a venue for your local protest in the case that the Urgent Response Network is activated, and list the time and place on the website. We also recommend that you set up a place to jointly watch the election results on Election Night.

Let us commit ourselves to making sure that this time around, the person who occupies the White House is the one who won the election.

No Stolen Elections!

Check out the link to the "Directory of Local Actions." Nothing so far planned in California, unfortunately, but at least someone has woken up to the idea that the only way to stop another election theft is through organized resistance.

Ironic that Green party signitories are showing that they are willing to fight to defend Kerry's right to a fair election... to bad there aren't more prominent Democratic leaders willing to show that they will resist.

Without free and fair elections, we have no democracy to export, defend, enjoy, or pass along to posterity. Without free and fair elections, democracy is dead, and I might as well be also.

:kick:

On edit: Why would you expect prominent Democrats to resist fraudulent elections? They didn't in 2000. They won't now. It is up to us, as usual. Our so-called leaders can lead, follow, or get out of the way, but they are not "we the people," we are. They can send us to fight their wars, but they don't do the fighting themselves. We do. If we don't, they won't do it for us. That's why I'm supporting John Kerry. Not the DNC or the DLC, or even the Democratic candidate for President, but John Kerry, the man who fought for his country, fought for what is right, and who, along with Teresa, will probably join us in the streets even if nobody else from the corporate party leadership does. I'm not voting for the Democratic party, because they let me down and I know I can't depend on them. I'm voting for John Kerry because he hasn't let me down yet, and I don't think he will.

On 2nd edit: Past my bedtime. I meant this to be a response to the original message. Sorry.
