How many people think there are going to be fist fights at the polls? |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 12:35 PM by Sperk
All of these people who have had their registrations tossed, are they just going to go home....doubt it. Most will call for legal counsel but I bet many will be quite bullshit (it's one thing when you don't let the black folks vote.....quite another when it's the whites) Just my two cents.
And is there going to be a Senator who will go along with protesting the vote this time....I think so.

1. my bet is it will happen |
|
I hope it does not happen in Alb - where I'll be poll-watching (especially w/ me involved!)
This election will be fought much differently than the 2000 debacle

There's an article in today's St. Pete Times that talks about how many poll watchers are registering with county election offices and how the republican poll watchers are planning to make many challenges at the polls, something that has never been done before.
Dem poll watchers are going to have to get in repubs faces. In some areas of the state, it's going to be mayhem. The repubs only chance here in FL, IMO, is to deny/supress the black vote.

I thought you meant between voters. Both probably, thank God we mail in, won't have riots here anyway. I'm fully prepared to go where needed though. Bring It On! (I'm not kidding)

6. They are out to challenge democratic voters in Nevada |
|
I wouldn't be at all suprised if fists are thrown here, especially when thousands of people show up and find out their registrations were thrown in the garbage, or when some idiot tries to intimidate the wrong person into not voting.
I would recommend everyone bring a cell phone and a camera to the polls on election day(even if you already voted, visit your local polling place with these things. Take pictures of the faces of anyone attempting to intimidate voters, and call the cops on them. My guess is that will scare most of them off, and the ones that aren't scared off will at least have to deal with the cops, which will prevent them from preventing others from voting.

democracy is worth fighting for, so if voters are denied access, tempers will be high enough, especially since many know what is going on.
