Kerry cabinet
If Kerry wins (don't want to jinx it), here are some cabinet ideas:

Secretary of State: Joe Biden
Attorney General: Feingold (though he may be too valuable in the Senate to let out)
National Security Adviser: Richard Holbrooke
Secretary of Defense: Not sure
Secretary of Energy: Joe Kennedy

Obviously, this isn't very complete. Anyone have any ideas of their own?

Maybe Wes Clark as Secretary of Defense?

25. There was another thread on this
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1085245&mesg_id=1085245&page=

In that thread, I pointed out that St. William of Arkansas might make a better UN Ambassador than Sec'y of State. I think the Big Dawg possibly has his eye on the only job that comes even close to the prestige of his last one - Secretary General of the UN, and spending some time as Ambassador might set him up quite nicely for that position.

42. Can't be Sec Gen.
The Sec. Gen. of the U.N. cannot be from one of the five permanent members of the Security Council - The U.S., the U.K., France, Russia, and China.

Even though it would be the shit if Clinton would be Sec. Gen.

Kerry must appoint a Dem. for Secretary of Defense. I'm tired of hearing that Dems. are weak on defense.

11. I agree with the principle, but here's a thought.....
If Kerry appointed John McCain to Defense (for which he is certainly qualified) that would be a gesture of bi-partisanship to sane Republicans, AND an open Senate seat in a state with a Democratic governor. (exactly the opposite of the scenario in my previous post)

8. Who's the governor of Maryland?
Kerry must not appoint any sitting senators to his cabinet from states with Republican governors. It's bad enough that his own Senate seat will be filled by appointment of Shit Romney. Edwards made the smart move by pulling out of the Senate race in time for a Democrat to run for his seat.

40. Ehrlich but Sarbines and Muiliski
likely won't be appointed to any spots. Actually, Kerry's senate seat will likely be ours, the mostly dem legislature up there put in a law over Mittens Romney's veto that we could run someone against them, all sorts of names thrown out there, the one I want is Barney Frank.

Everything. This is the second Kerry "dream" cabinet I've seen today at DU. All white men- :OK, one ludicrous suggestion of Al Sharpton.
There are many qualified women and minorities. I have faith in Kerry. He'll appoint a cabinet that's representative of America. What's wrong with all of you???

34. He should not pick Dem Senators...
... after all, if we want to impeach and CONVICT Slappy, Fat Tony and Klanquist, we need every swingin' Dem we can get with pickups this year and in '06.

Secretary of State: Bill Clinton. Rub the Newt-ites and FRascists' nose in that.
Attorney General: Eliot Spitzer.
National Intelligence Director: Valerie Plame.
National Security Advisor: Kerry and Edwards should follow the example of Bill Maher and Michael Moore and prostrate themselves in front of Richard Clarke.
Secretary of Homeland Security: Rudy Giuliani. Go ahead and cringe -- but I know some of his people at Giuliani & Associates and after Bush is defeated (as they believe he will be), Rudy wants to see the GOP reach out to Dems -- and he is one of the few, like McCain, who can do it. And let's not forget that Clinton was wise to reach out to the GOP -- Bill Cohen was a damn good Defense Secretary.
Ambassador to the UN: Rev. Jesse Jackson.
