I watched the Crossfire clip. I think Tucker asked Jon, "What do you like about President Bush?" I thought Jon said "He'll be unemployed soon." Am I correct?

2. Paul Begala said that. Jon asked them each to say something nice
about the other guy's candidate.

4. I haven't heard any polls yet but my sense is that he's doing well.
There are many more Rose signs in my county and I drive through much of it because I teach about 35 miles from home two nights a week. He raised a lot of money but his opponent's daddy is apparently trying to buy the election for him. The LTTE's also seem to favor Patrick. The opposition doesn't seem to have much on him. I've also picked up a theme that his opponent isn't nearly as interested in being state rep as his daddy -- his father apparently shows up more at debates and such than he does.

I asked Patrick's dad how it's going the last time I worked in the campaign and he said they are very optimistic. Patrick has three different ads running on Austin TV right now and his opponent started running one ad last weekend. In all honesty, it's pretty lame: "Alan Askew believes in "George Bush" Texas values like smaller government." All general conservative crap and no discussion of specific issues.

Thanks for asking!

5. What I like best about Bush is his contempt for the media.
He doesn't even pretend to respect them.

6. I don't like it, because it's so disingenuous
the media's the best friends Bush's got.. and he still shit on 'em!

8. That is precisely my point.
He makes them look exactly what they are.
