Who here has been polled? By which organization? |
|
We have a pretty large sample of active demoncrats here right?
How many of you have been counted in the polls? I would be really interested to know.

I have been committed Kerry since last October, so I am not among those whose views have shifted during the recent polling season. But in any case, I take my Zogby opportunity to hammer Chimpy hard.

Zogby typically uses a sample of just over 1,000. How is it that two individuals out of over hundreds of millions of voters get polled not twice, not three times, but four times? Just makes me wonder about his sampling techniques. I mean, if the sampling were truely random, the odds of you being included among a sample of 1,000 voters four times is about 800,000 to 1.

13. I get polled by Zoby at lest 2 times per month! |
|
And your suspicions are probably correct. Often they ask questions like "Do you shop at Wal-Mart" or "Do you buy eggs that come from free-range chickens" so it sounds like, to me, he is creating profiles of different groups to poll.

there are many "control" questions....but then they add something about an issue or ask for some weird demographic...like "Do you have a passport"
it makes sense. if you determine someone is pro kerry or bush, you can then try to find some key differences or other idicators on issues

Once by phone, followed by three email requests to participate in the online poll.

We live in the I-4 corridor in Florida, a real battleground area between south Florida (Dem) and North Florida and the Panhandle (Rethug).
Central Florida will tip the state one way or the other.

4. I was polled once through a recording at the beginning of the summer. |
|
It asked if I was voting for Kerry or Bush and to press 1 or 2. Then that was it.
Then yesterday I was polled for an Indiana candidate for my district and it was a push button vote that was recorded, too.
That's it.

5. Gallup. Yep. Gallup, and I do the online Zogby polls whenever they're sent |
|
to me. Which is pretty regularly.
Yes, I actually got called by the Gallup organization. After the last debate! I gave 'em a piece of my mind. Also told them it was good that they called someone like me because there is a widely-held perception out there that they skew conservative, and deliberately poll more republi-CONS than Dems. They also asked, at the end of a rather extensive survey, if I'd like to be called again. Of course, I said "OF COURSE!!!"

I get the online poll sent to me about every 2 weeks or so. I answer the same way every time. I'm surprised I'm still on their list.
I've never been polled by phone, even though we've had the same phone number for 30 years.

The only time I was polled was by the "Republican Issues Poll". I said the only issue I had with the republicans was that they weren't being hanged fast enough. "Click"

And I do participate.
But I've never heard from any other polling outfit, ever.

I live in swing state MN, but this will be my first time voting. I'm not sure if that matters, or not.
