Amazing Republican Jackass

** Call Kerry HQ to volunteer in Northern Viginia: 703-207-2004 **

My girlfriend and I were canvassing for Kerry in Northern Virginia this morning and were assigned to an upper-middle neighborhood in Springfield.

After briefly stopping on the street to verify the location and make a call, we parked and started canvassing. When we got to the house I had stopped in front of, the owner greeted us with: "Are you in the same car that just stopped and threw trash in front of my house? Where do you live so I can come over and throw trash in front of your house?" We looked at him in utter bafflement and denied it. But he kept after us, especially my girlfriend (who is a sweet little thing). "Here, let me show you." He left and came back with a small bit of purple candy wrapping we had never seen before.

I was trying to end the conversation, but Li-Ping said "maybe I threw some potato chip crumbs out the window." He then said "Oh, you're just like John Kerry. First you said you didn't, now you say you did. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Do you think John Kerry would approve of what you did?" I said "I think there are more important issues in this election."

There was much, much more -- the guy was obsessed. But we finally got out of there and kept going. Later we realized what happened -- when I first stopped, Li-Ping thought I was parking and started to get out, then closed the door again. That's what this whole stupid thing was about.

But I had one of those great elevator moments: I wish I thought to say: "Yes, and you're the perfect Bush supporter. Misinterpreting evidence and starting unnecessary fights."

4. It Would Have Been So Nice in a Way
to get into an argument, but we really weren't supposed to. It just encourages them. But I came close to saying with a big grin: "You know Kerry is going to win. Bush is going down."

2. Bush people are an ugly bunch! Can't imagine our country
ruled by them.
They are so angry and crazy...I wonder what they will do when Kerry wins and they are left out in a cold left field with the wind blowing up their asses!

3. I Would Be So Ashamed to Act That Way
I wouldn't even be able to look someone in the face and have that conversation.

BTW, he hit two Bush supporters right off the bat. The other houses were all Kerry. A lot more Kerry bumper stickers/
