AP: Six GIs Killed In Iraq Bombings, Crashes
Baghdad, Iraq - Two Army helicopters crashed late Saturday in Baghdad, killing two American soldiers and wounding to others, the U.S. command said. Explosions hit five churches in the capital as violence flared while Iraqi Muslims began marking the holy month of Ramadan.

Also Saturday, the U.S. command said four more American troops and an Iraqi interpreter were killed the day before by car bombs in the west and north of the country.

In the soon to be buried story about the 19 GIs who refused to obey orders because they were being sent off on what they thought was a 'suicide mission,' the U.S. command in Iraq spoke of it as being an 'isolated incident.' My question here would have to be: Given the general material unpreparedness of our forces there, and the fact that our troops have become little more than a hated foreign presence widely perceived there as being hostile occupiers, what in Iraq isn't a suicide mission now?

I have posted only some of the headlines, you can click the link to read all and details.

The Iraqi Resistance Reports are compiled by non-western reporters on the ground in the locations mentioned, as opposed to US military approved reporters barricaded in a hotel in Baghdad. The reporters who file the Iraqi Resistance Reports do not even attend US military briefings. They are spread out all over Iraq in areas where it would be too dangerous to have a US military briefing.
