Karl Rove - Anti Catholic Bigot
It seems that Karl has been communicating with some of Northen Ireland's more seedy catholic haters.

6. Aye the "Doctor Reverend" Ian Kyle Paisley
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 07:11 PM by JohnKleeb
All I've read and heard about him suggests that he's a douchebag. BTW Rogue, thanks for bringing attention to this, I've always felt though they don't come out and say it now a days, the extreme right wing has a big hatred of Catholics which they don't say because they would alienate some of their own who are Catholic.

7. They need every anti-abortion vote they can get. Lovey-dovey when it
comes to a voter base.

POOTS WELCOMES COMMENTS OF PRESIDENT BUSH’S CHIEF STRAEGIST

Lagan Valley DUP MLA Edwin Poots has welcomed the statement made by Karl Rove, President George W Bush’s Chief Strategist in an interview with the Associated Press in America on Wednesday were he said the War on Terror is similar to the conflict in Northern Ireland. Karl Rove said, “This is going to be more like the conflict in Northern Ireland, where the Brits fought terrorism." Edwin Poots said,

“What is clear from this statement is that President Bush’s Chief Strategist agrees with the DUP that the IRA and al Qaeda are one in the same – Terrorists. Contrary to the beliefs of Irish Republicans that the campaign of violence waged by the IRA was a legitimate war by an oppressed people against Imperial Britain, Karl Rove has nailed this mythical lie and made it clear that the IRA are terrorists.

The onus is on the republican movement to deal with their paramilitary wing before they can be expected to be treated like other democrats. In American democracy there is no place for terrorists, in the Irish Government there is no place for terrorists, in the British Government there is no place for terrorists and in Northern Ireland the DUP will not placate terrorists and allow their political representatives to hold office while they hold on to a paramilitary wing."...

3. Many RW fundies don't believe Catholics are Christian
and hence use that as another anti-Kerry stance.

5. Yep
It would be awesome though if Kerry got as much support in Catholics as Kennedy did, but then you'd call me a dreamer :).

12. Exactly ...
the Evangelicals and Born Agains consistently claim that Catholics are not Christians. I've heard this so many times. My sister got involved with one of those huge "born again" churches. They told her that she couldn't come to my wedding in a Catholic church. And it's only been worse since then. They are insidious.

What blows me away is that the Catholics don't pay attention. Many Catholics think, "isn't this nice, we're being included." And they are just being used. It's disgusting. If the Catholics only knew what those people say behind their backs. This really makes me mad!

And... I'll have some cheese with my whine....

4. Thanks and I am not surprised
Yep those guys apparently think Trimble is too soft. I admit I am a radical when it comes to Northern Ireland though, I won't discuss how I feel because I don't like to discuss it and I know it pisses people off but this doesn't surprise me, Ian Paisley like Bush spoke at Bob Jones University, a hotbed of anti everything non protestant.

9. Speaking as a Catholic
...and knowing that the Catholic vote is allegedly split .... it's no surprise that it did not get any play here...
