Anyone else think Kerry had a missed opportunity during the 3rd debate?
re: the flu vaccination issue? I know they're capitalizing on it now, but Bush's ridiculous answer about it ("just don't get a flu shot") could have been the total end of his campaign if Kerry had come back and immediately blasted him on it; and perhaps even repeatedly brought it up as a theme of the night, over and over again.

1. I think he missed several opportunities....
I was screaming at him when supreme court appointments were mentioned...He could have pointed out how radically crazy some of Bushes nominees have been and how it is necessary to keep the court mainstream. Also, the "gay" question was absolutely terrible-so many home runs possible but he flubs by mentioning Mary Cheney. It was a disaster. Finally, when asked about his wife's influence he starts talking about his mom and "Integrity, integrity, integrity". That was a HUGE missed opportunity to show himself as human, and he just came off as a self-serving politician.

The 3rd debate was by far Kerry's weakest performance, but I still believe he won it easily. He just could have done MUCH, MUCH better!

3. I thought it was his best
but I won't say there weren't missed opportunities. But that's water under the bridge.

6. I was screaming at my TV, too.
When bush kept harping on that "No Child Left Behind" crapola, I WISHED that Kerry would have said:

"My opponent has spent a LOT of time tonight talking about 'No Child Left Behind.' But what he doesn't want to talk about is the provision in 'No Child Left Behind' - that requires ALL high schools to turn over the names of EVERY draft-age male student to the government. He won't talk about it because he doesn't want you to know about it. But he pushed for it and had his republi-CON coworkers in Congress push it through."

Another one: When bush stated flat-out that veterans had the best health care. I was stunned by this statement, myself. It would have been just stellar if Kerry had said - "you just heard the pResident say our veterans were currently enjoying the best health care. What he'd rather not remind you of - is the many soldiers, wounded in Iraq, who've come home to find themselves being BILLED for the food they were served while they were in the hospital. Or the veterans who've appealed to me and to others to preserve the VA hospitals around the country that this pResident wants to cut."

Another one: Kerry NEVER did take advantage of the idiot opening bush left him, every time bush claimed Kerry had insulted our allies. I WISHED like heck Kerry would have answered with "I'm surprised to hear my opponent accuse ME of insulting our allies, when it was HIS own people calling some of our best and strongest European friends 'OLD EUROPE.'"

There were many openings that our guys didn't take advantage of, holes that both bush AND cheney left that you could drive a freight train through. But my husband pointed out that, sometimes, these guys have a pretty good sense about what you respond to and what you leave - like rope - with which the other guy can then hang himself.

7. Obviously watching a different debate than most of the rest of the country
did.

Thanks for stopping by, though.

10. Bush looked like he had a stroke during the 3rd debate.
Whatever Kerry was, Bush was 10 times worse.

11. Yes, I "remeber" all the debates
Hey, do you "remeber" how Jesus-boy skated out of the Guard (the fucking GUARD!!!)?

Hey, do you "remeber" how Georgie got the whole world to respect him? *snort*

Hey, do you "remeber" how Georgie scored Poland as part of the Coalition of the Willing? Woot woot!

Hey, do you "remeber" that you are in your underpants in your parent's basement?

12. He's just a person ...
And he's a better person than I am, and miles better than Bush. Of course he missed some opportunities, but we can't expect perfection. All he needed to do was to convince the American people that he's a legitimate option, and he did that--in spades. He looked and sounded presidential (much more so than chimpy). That was enough, imho.

And to the naysayer who thinks it cost him the election ... :kick:

14. More flu vacine stuff
I think he should have asked B* why it was okay to "work with Canada" to create the vacine but Canada isn't good enough to provide us with prescription drugs. I think that could have been a homer and was so obvious.
