Two more Kerry endorsements
Oct 16, 7:53 PM EDT

Some 2004 Presidential Endorsements

Newspaper endorsements in the 2004 presidential campaign between President Bush, a Republican, and Sen. John Kerry, a Democrat.

Bush:

The Carlsbad Current-Argus, Carlsbad, N.M., endorsed Bush on Oct. 17.
...
Kerry:

The Star Tribune, Minneapolis, endorsed Kerry on Oct. 17.
...
Dayton Daily News, Dayton, Ohio, endorsed Kerry on Oct. 17.
...
(The article also includes a paragraph each from the endorsements, but if I included that I would have the entire article.)

I think that's a couple million people to about 20,000, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

6. NYT link
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/17/opinion/17sun1.html

"We have been impressed with Mr. Kerry's wide knowledge and clear thinking - something that became more apparent once he was reined in by that two-minute debate light. He is blessedly willing to re-evaluate decisions when conditions change. And while Mr. Kerry's service in Vietnam was first over-promoted and then over-pilloried, his entire life has been devoted to public service, from the war to a series of elected offices. He strikes us, above all, as a man with a strong moral core."

7. and this is the core of their argument against Bush
The president who lost the popular vote got a real mandate on Sept. 11, 2001. With the grieving country united behind him, Mr. Bush had an unparalleled opportunity to ask for almost any shared sacrifice. The only limit was his imagination.

He asked for another tax cut and the war against Iraq.

9. Woo hoo! My hometown paper!
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune. I knew they would; they've been bashing Bush in editorials for months. They have by far the biggest circulation in MN. I think the much smaller St. Paul Dispatch might go for B*sh (they did last time); they get a bit freeperish at times. Screw 'em. Strib rocks.
