Fahrenheit 9/11 DVD - Extras should be in an immediate theater rerelease!!
I rented Fahrenheit 9/11 and talked a friend of mine into coming over. He was adamant to not seeing the film but talked him into it anyway. He came away quite impressed but we both agreed a few spots were exaggeration and taking things out of context.

Anyway, the extras on the DVD include eyewitness accounts from a Swedish videojournalist who went along with US troops on sweeps through Samarra back in December, 2003. From watching that it's very easy to see that most of the people arrested were completely innocent. The US troops would enter a house and start going through papers, IDs, documents, etc. All of this paperwork was in Arabic and NO ONE could translate it so they would just the men in the house into custody anyway.

Just utterly mind-boggling how ill-prepared our soldiers were for this war. Running a war on the cheap and based on pure ideology and failed intelligence is the biggest mistake our government has made in decades.

I'd love to see this get a big push nationwide in the theaters next weekend...just show the DVD extras...that's it.

2. Mostly in the 1st half
The bin Laden family allowed to leave the country. Richard Clarke cleared it after having checked with the FBI. I trust Clarke over a retired FBI agent.

Bush's speech about "I call you my base" was taken out of context. I believe Al Gore was even in the audience.

And, the numbers Craig Unger used as far as bin Laden family holdings in the U.S. $800billion? They own 7% of America?

3. clark has since (long since) said something further on that matter
he's said he cleared it predicated upon the fbi doing their job. doing that job was left up to the fbi, for obvious reasons. and they didn't do it.

5. Bush
was joking when he said the base comment, that was obvious to me
of course its a bad joke and even though it was a joke in many ways it is true i think that is where Moore was going with that.
