To the editor:
Doesn't seem to me that John Kerry's 120 days in Vietnam are germane to the question of whether or not he is capable of being president of the United States.
Skipper of a small boat doesn't seem like that is what it takes.
His useless years in the Senate are the best indicators - a typical underachiever living on the public Dole.
The only thing he appears good at, is marrying wealthy women.

Either we fight there or here
To the editor:
It's sad to see what we're doing to ourselves - the hate that is being spewed out from this election.
Bitterness because the Democrats lost the last election. Time and time again, it has been shown by independent investigation as well by the media and the court's investigations that it was a fair election.
Now, the lies coming out and twisted facts by a movie and media specials. On top of that, we have two men running for our highest offices that didn't attend Senate meetings more than 30 times out of 36. This is representation?
As for the Senate, they have blocked bill after bill that are for our good, and appointment after appointment for judges. Don't blame it all on George W. Bush.
One more question to think about. Do you remember 3,000 deaths at the twin towers (9-11)? Either we fight there or here and be thankful for our coalition allies in this global fight as well as homeland security. Let us unite, a house divided cannot stand.

Tell the truth about why school is out over Christmas
To the editor:
Each year about mid-December, I grow increasingly annoyed each time I pass Colonial Heights High School and see their sign announcing the "winter vacation" schedule.
Even though all of history is measured from the birth of Jesus Christ, the wimps in the Colonial Heights School System can't tell the truth about why school is out over Christmas.
Maybe one of the candidates running for the Colonial Heights School Board might find the courage to inquire into the matter.

Yard signs being stolen, vandalized
To the editor:
I was watching the news this morning and saw that people were having their lawn signs stolen or vandalized in Chesterfield County. I looked out of my window and low and behold, my sign was gone. (I live in Henrico County).
When I called the Kerry-Edwards campaign office to tell them and find out where I could go to get another, I told her that I live in Henrico Co. She explained that a lot of people are "afraid" to put Kerry signs in their yard???? Scared of what??? Being judged for who you are voting for? Unreal!!!
People really need to get a grip on reality. Everyone has a different opinion about one issue or another. But to go so low as to steal yard signs.
The people that took the time and energy to go from house to house to steal signs, could have used that energy in a more productive way. They could have held a meeting to make others aware of who they are representing and why. Or maybe they could have done some research on who they are representing and then asked themselves WHY???
Sincerely,
