Only WH can stop Sinclair- need to find/report SCANDAL
Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 07:55 AM by npincus
Let's be real- the zealots who own Sinclair (and 90% of its stock)anticipated the uproar from the left- and middle- and are prepared to suffer the consequences- financial in particular- if that will accomplish their goal of re-electing Bush. I beleive the only way to put the kabosh on this impending televised disaster is for the press to publish/report on shady goings-on between the White House and Sinclair- isn't one of their top executives a Bush appointee? What are their ties and contacts to the White House? If this disgusting abuse of the airwaves appears to be a dirty politcal trick engineered by the White House, the fear of voter backlash against Bush may cause some behind-the-scenes conversations to Sinclair and a change-of-heart regarding their plan to air the 'documentary'. A cover story in the New York Times is a good start. Why aren't they on top of this? (or are they?)

I also wonder why no legal effort has been undertaken yet against Sinclair- they want to televise the doumentary because they call it "news".

There is no doubt that the airing of this is disastrous- I hope Sinclair can be stopped, somehow. And if the heat of scandal gets close to the Bush campaign, that might do the trick.

Perhaps Kerry and Edwards should start talking about it- that this Sinclair effort is being engineered by the WH. Perhaps Kerry and Edwards can talk about the ties between Sinclair and the WH- that would surely make the evening news and the newspapers, and put this broadcast in the context of a dirty political trick rather than a "news" report, which is how Sinclair justifies its being aired.
