I live in North Carolina so that I do not see many presidential ads.
I have not seen a Kerry ad in a long time.
I assume that Kerry is concentrating in the swing states.
Does anyone know if the Kerry campaign is making the flu shot shortage an issue?
This is the second year in a row there is a shortage.
There was a shortage last year but it occurred during the winter.
I have heard of no major media outlet bring up that this is the second year in a row there has been a shortage.
How in earth can anyone comptemplate voting for Bush?
If he cannot protect us from the flu how can he protect us from a biological or nuclear attack?

I don't know about the Kerry campaign, but I've been hammering home that this flu shot business is the direct result of repuke philosophy. According to the repukes, the free market is supposed to solve all of our problems. The government's job is to get out of the way and be as small as possible. Voila! We are living in every repuke's dreamland and guess what? Elderly people are lining up for blocks for a fecking flu shot. People who need one: patients with compromised immune systems and those with chronic respiratory illnesses (like me) can't get a flu shot. So I guess outsourcing public healthcare to corporations wasn't such a hot idea.

I'd like to be able to tell you how anyone could vote for *, but can't figure it out myself. Personally, I think it would thrill the idiot to see the Medicare and Medicaid rolls reduced by deaths from a flu epidemic. I've become quite cynical during the past four years.

3. I agree- this needs to be a big campaign issue- affects so many people |
|
Kerry campaign is making an issue out of it and releasing TV ads. Bush campaign is saying he is just taking advantage of the shortage for political purposes. But since Bush & Co have not taken responsibility for the shortage which is a big failure on their watch, Dems need to continue bringing attention. Kerry has a great opportunity to capitalize on this issue since it highlights once again how Bush & Co are not protecting us and have gone too far in wanting less government involvement in health care.

Bill Frist was just on CNN with Wolf Blitzer.
He said the flu shortage problem could be solved with medical malpractice reform.
Why does these Republicans think that the world's problems can be solved by unrestrained free enterprise?

The questions should be : why were only 2 companies involved with making the flu shot
how are they connected with whom (politically and financially)
why was one company allowed to make 1/2 of this yrs flu shots when a large number of people had health problems from last yrs shot provided by this company, and why has there been little media coverage of the problems from last yrs shot (really, CDC has been investigating this, I know of 2 people who got guillan barre syndrome from last yrs shot, were told it was a stroke or MS and finally, guess what, it's from last yrs contaminated shot but don't worry)?
what amount of possible bad reaction balances out the possible bad reactions from no shot?
how funny is it that usually people have to be begged to get the flu shot, but, what with all the media coverage, this yr there isn't enough (conspiracy theory)?
Nope, lets just focus on the positive, don't get a shot and you'll be fine.
