Anyone else voting for any Republicans in November?
:eyes:

I'm voting for a moderate Repub county commissioner, since he's running against a moran DINO who has no idea what she's doing. Plus, he's kinda one-a-them "I'm a Republican because that's who votes in this county" kinda guys, been in local government for ages.

I'm gritting my teeth and doing it. An ugly scar on my ballot that has to be done. Anyone else making lesser-of-two-idiot decisions like this?

2. Nope
Never have and never will. If they want my vote they better damned well have a (D) by their name. I don't even care if s/he is a liberal republican, come on over to our side and you'll get my vote.

4. No Repubican stepped forward in Election 2000
and said to count the ballots. ALL of them thought it was more important to get georgie in than to get a fair count. Need I say more?

and as much as I love him, that includes John Kerry.

15. Are You Kidding????
Since that "Revival" Convention in 1992, you know the one when people help up babies as weapons with "Anti-Choice" slogans and Buchanan's "Culture Wars" speech, I've only voted for a Republican two times, and only because one opponent was so bad and the other opponent was dead (L.A. County Sheriff--1998). Why would I want to vote for a party aligned with fascist tendencies? The past three plus years, they've done nothing but seize power and make fun of our Democracy. Their only chance this year is to trump the "Gay Marriage" card to even have a chance. I live in California and I know. The Recall was simply taking advantage of California law for a "Do Over" when they didn't like the results. Don't make me laugh! It's gotten to a point that having an "R" after one's name is a liability to me.

13. Considering....
The Dem running for governor in my state is a total spineless fucking idiot. He was a founding member of the Vermont Progressive party until it was time to run for governor. Now he's a Dem?????????
The guy is a dip-shit and his only plan is to blast Douglas for being a republican. OK fine but whats your plan stupid-ass?? Silence.
The current governor hasnt been too bad and although he's a repuke he's managed not to fuck things up in the two years as gov. I'm willing to give him another two years and make him keep his promises.
Some people say they have never voted for a repug and never will. OK but how about Jim Jeffords??? I voted for him more then once. He's a good man who has the voters in mind while sitting in congress. Yes he did ditch the repugs to become an independent and tip the balance back to the dems favore. My point is, arent we supposed to vote for the person and not the party??????????????????
I'm so fucking sick of this party line bullshit and as far as I'm concerned thats the real thing thats killing our country.
So with that in mind, who knows perhaps I will vote for a repug, but I'm not going to allow the Dem party faithful to bully me into voting for someone who clearly is not the right person for the job.
Vote for your country, not your party.

PS The Dems are sooooo cool.....LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO HOWARD DEAN!!!

16. If Chafee were up for election this time around,
I would vote for him again. I don't vote straight ticket party line, and I am NOT voting against someone who saw through the BS and voted NO on IWR, I don't care what fricking letter he has next to his name.

18. Not this election

But I have once for State Senate after the "Democrat" in the race ran a TV ad with a 9mm on his hip and a shotgun over his shoulder saying the Louisiana legislature was going to take away our gun rights. A very laughable statement to say the least.

I told the Republican candidate the next day that I was voting for her as long as she didn't go on TV and shoot something. She won, and it turned out her Democratic challenger was actually crazy.

25. i voted for a few Repukes because they are running unopposed
and I thought my finished absentee ballot had too many blank spaces on it. WTF, they win as soon as they get 1 vote so it don't matter. This area is red anyway. However all the Democrats that were running in local races got my vote.

26. Not this time. Repubs have become too radical.
I'll vote straight Dem ticket until the Repubs return to sanity. Ever since Gingrich they have just been nuts. No way I'm going to reward them for it.

27. There may be a rare GOP candidate at the local level
who is worth voting for. I think the last time I cringed and voted GOP it was for the DA, someone whose work I knew (dont' ask) and respected. He's since retired, and become a wonderful local gadfly. I didn't vote for him, but I have to admit our last governor (GOP) was much better than the DINO we have now. Come the next gubernatorial election, I'll be voting Green.

However, since 1980, I have been unable to vote for any GOPer above city or county level, and generally not at the local level, either. 1980 was the year that Reagan handed the party of the rich over to the religious lunatics, and that was the year I could no longer vote for even liberal New England Republicans. You see, even the good Repuglicans are under intense pressure from the rest of the party to conform to their party agenda. Democrats are under party pressure, too, but their party agenda is much more palatable. Thus, the choice between a decent Repuglican and a lousy Democrat always lands in favor of the Democrat.

The day of voting for the person, not the party, ended with the ascendance of Tom DeLay, the GOP's enforcer in Congress. Remove him and another bully will take his place. All we can do is keep that party out of office until they take corrective measures.

28. Not this year.........
I have, on occasion, split my ticket in local elections, in the case where the candidates are known to me personally. I have apologized to republican acquaintances this year and let them know that I can't vote for ANYONE associated with the Republican Party this year.
