If the control room -- which must be monitoring the feed in order to establish audio and video continuity -- sees the 'hash' (loss of signal) in preset or on one of the countless monitors, they will not go to it, live. BUT, when the feed is 'cleared' by transmission, it is rare for a loss of signal loss to suddenly occur. Once in a while, someone along the signal path accidentally pulls the plug on a feed, but it is typically returned within several seconds, unless there are weather problems.

Long story short, I believe CNN is using political censor hip, under the guise of technical gremlins.

CNN cancelled TALK BALK LIVE just as chimpoleon was starting his rush to war.

the nation was against him. people where openly saying this.

and boom talk back live goes off the air so.

was it a money/programming decision or was it hard to be beat those war drums when you had a show on every morning that had people openly questioning the logic
