There's a new democratic candidate now,his name is Dennis Kucinich.
He's from Ohio, Cleveland to be exact...he's also a true liberal progressive and he doesn't take any shit or kiss republican ass!

(This is the kind of bullshit with absolutely no respect Kucinich has been getting all along ...what are they so afraid of? And now even a somewhat liberal SF Gate is finally just doing a cover piece on him now...like he just showed up yesterday...pisses me off...still waiting for the mainstream press to give Dennis and his great idea's, in the true FDR liberal tradition a fair forum.)

Kucinich, taking issue with Dean, the Democratic front-runner who has made opposition to the war in Iraq a cornerstone of his campaign, says he's the only Democratic candidate who wants to end the war immediately.

The candidate also supports the establishment of a U.S. Department of Peace, stands firmly against the North American Free Trade Agreement and the World Trade Organization, supports the decriminalization of marijuana and is a strong advocate for legalizing gay marriage, universal preschool and universal health care coverage.

The unapologetic liberal bent of the former boy mayor from Cleveland has made him a target of derision from the Republican National Committee, which has dismissed him as a fringe candidate and a "flip-flopping liberal extremist.

He's almost polling slightly in the same neighborhood as Mosley-Braun & Sharpton. Maybe.

7. Better tell the voters.
They think Dean and Clark ARE real Democrats. Those silly voters. You just can't trust them with something as important as choosing their nominee.

13. What Voters? We had an election? When?
You said we "better tell the voters" - Clark's never run for office, and Dean's entire state has less people than Kucinich's district? So what voters?

"You just can't trust them with something as important as choosing their nominee."

Sounds good to me - no one's dropping out until all the votes are cast and counted - deal?

6. I listened to him earlier...
and he seems like a truly decent person. He's probably the only candidate I've heard that actually spoke of the horrible toll this war has taken on Iraqi civilians and he made a point to address the fact that those people must be compensated.

He's a good guy, but unfortunately hasn't a chance in hell.

9. DK is my first choice
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 10:21 PM by cryofan
I met him when he came into Houston about a month ago.

He is a true iconoclast, and he seems to have a grudge against or distrust of The Establishment, which is why I support him. Of course the elite media have poisoned the minds of the public against him.

Probably most DUers would back Dennis if they thought he could win. But we are political junkies and activists. So many of the DUers who support other candidates instead do so because they think he cannot win.

DK has a problem with his staff, in that they do not seem to be professional, experienced political people. Why this is, I am not sure. I suspect that fact has something to do with his disappointing poll numbers. I am not blaming them. They can be only what they are. The blame must fall to Dennis, ultimately.
