Voters Dislike Nasty Campaigns
ANCHESTER, N.H. - Near the end of a long presidential campaign, the question in this hard-fought state is becoming more familiar: Which candidate do you like? And the reply of 62-year-old independent voter Joy Handyside is perhaps all-too-common.

In her booth at the Puritan Backroom Restaurant, where the chitchat is flavored with politics, she grouses, "I haven't heard too much good about either one of them."

There's a reason why.

Many are characterizing this as one of the most negative campaigns in decades. Attacks on President Bush (news - web sites) and Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) make up much of what many voters, in New Hampshire and elsewhere, know about the candidates.

And many don't like it.

1. That is why the GOP is so nasty, they want low voter turnout
and nasty turns people away from the voting booth. But usually it is the Democrats who are turned off. Ha! That will definitely not be the case this year.

2. Then do some reading and researching dumbasses
This just pisses me off because if Kerry had not gone negative on Bush after the crap the RNC pulled, then he's "weak". If he responds, he's "negative". If TV ads and CNN soundbites are how one gets their info for an election, then they're stupid.

3. I get Gillespie's weekly emails, and they are ALL about Kerry
Nothing but negative negative negative against Kerry.

All BS, of course.

4. Count me in that category
I'm revolted by this whole thing.

2000 proved that our electoral system is a hopelessly rigged game. This campaign has been packed to bursting with lies, distortions, personal attacks, name calling, and other garbage all in the hope of diverting our attention. Every future election is going to be in doubt with each party accusing the other of voter fraud. And WE as Americans have been stupid enough to fall for all of it.

The last four years have completely destroyed the cornerstone of our nation, quite possibly beyond all hope of repair.
