Becoming Greatly Concerned About Sinclair--live in affliate area
I live in one of the "affilate" areas of this scum. At first because of the general controversy of their planned program and now because of all the pressure put by activists on the local advertisers, this crap has become both articles in local newspapers and news on the other two stations in the state. What was once something only a few Republican dogs would watch, is now becoming "must see tv".

I won't be childish and go into denial. Of course there will be some damage done to Kerry on this. I expect the news to hype it as it approaches and to go on and on about parts of it for a good week.

I would like to know if you've heard anything from the Kerry camp on how they intend to fight this. I pray they have something filthy on George and release it soon---I doubt they do and doubt the slime media would report it anyway. I dearly hope this doesn't cost us Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa where things are just too close. I pray for backlash that this is done so close to elections, but have given up on this sack of crap nation that never even breaks into a sweat when democracy is on life-support and ready to go to flat line. I feel so helpless to stop this. The more we put pressure on their advertisers, the more the damn thing is on the news which gives it free publicity. Frustration........

1. I've done all the phoning
and emailing I can to advertisers, and now just letting the chips fall where they may.

I keep reminding myself of the times I called my dad during Clinton's campaign, and saying, "Oh shit, he's TOAST," as another scandal was being pushed on tv. HE seems to have worked his way through it.

The more I see of Kerry, the more I know that he can battle through this crap. I am making everyone I know watch "Going Upriver," however, as an innoculation. :D

2. My husband had a suggestion..........he said the Kerry camp should
take whatever millions they have and buy time on CBS and run F 9/11. They can outright say that it is a campaign buy so that CBS isn't accused of giving them free time. Either that or a half hour address by Kerry.

3. I've seen Stolen Valor
It's all over the internet newsgroups for the last couple of days so I d/l a copy to see what the fuss was about.
This movie MUST NOT be show b/4 the election. While the sophisticated voter will see right through its lies-this movie uses a subtle, but damning technique to libel Kerry by using the statements of POWs. I repeat, we must do everything possible to make sure this is not shown!!!!

9. Oldsneakers---tell me something since you have seen it
All these toss up states have been flooded with the Swiftboat ads and one of them is this POW horseshit about how they were all hurt and punished because John Kerry (whom no one knew from shit back then) protested. Is this just an enlargement of the same shit?? In other words, if the people have seen the ads will this have not much of an impact or do you think it will have a real big impact. Love to hear what you think.

4. Well I guess we're damned if we do, damned if we don't
We could just sit around and let this happen quietly, but a few days before and after it aired all of the talking heads would be recreating what Kerry endured throughout August of "Where's the outrage?! It must be true if they're not questioning it!"

7. high----just had a thought when I read your post
Perhaps there's a way here for Kerry to get a lot of face time. If these media whores keep bringing up the things in this presentation, I would let Kerry and some strong talking heads be on the air day and night yelling and interjecting Kerry campaign messages. They will all line up waiting for replies----so give them some damn good replies which include that Bush was a yellow bellied deserter and that was the greatest mocking of anyone who fought or who was held prisoner. Now the talk about Bush's fucking AWOL has to go loud and dirty. Call a spade a spade.....tell the people he desserted in time of war.

propaganda film.

I doubt it would influence anyone, except for the terminally stupid, to vote for Bu$h, and the terminally stupid are already pretty much going to vote for Bu$h anyway

But Sinclair Broadcasting Group should be put out of business for airing it and betraying the public trust.

Contact all Sinclair advertisers with just one email:

8. Push Back!
Immediately after it airs every newspaper and broadcast station should be flooded with e-mails and letters saying:
1. that it was a despicable smear.
2. that Bush supporters are desperately trying to turn attention away from Bush's record of failure.
3. that Kerry's opposition to the war was as heroic and courtageous as his service in the Navy
4. it would be a disservice to our troops to support the commander-in-chief who has failed them.

The next day, write again and get the conversation back to the real issues: jobs, health care, the deficit and Bush's failure in the war against terror.
