The NWO idea is so diluted and confused now. I think too many Freeper-types jumped on it when they discovered the Intrawebs and they went all paranoid delusional in attempts to expose the blueprints for Satan's rule.

NWO seems to now translate into who gets to take the throne of any Global Government that might emerge out of coercion or necessity.

It stands to reason that the meme will morp and be used for ideological wars. If it is "us" an NWO is good and just. If it is "them" it just has to be Satan/Nazi/Big Brother.

We, as a merely a third-species of Chimpanzee with extras, may never get a united World down pat. If we do, we stand to be subjugated by the monkey with the bigger thigh bone, anyway. Its an nice idea though.

Maybe we will have a "The Day the Earth Stood Still" scenario where Gort keeps us in line ... ah, been then we have to consider The Matrix and .... :(
