There were more than 537 new voters at Edwards' rally today |
|
One of the local pols asked the crowd to raise their hand if they had not voted in 2000 but were going to vote in 2004. Hundreds of people put their hands up.
537 is the number of votes that Bush stole Florida by. Even with all of Jeb's shenanigans, Kerry is going to take Florida by a landslide this time.

4. Thanks for the good news! |

One reason the polls are so off is that they aren't counting all these new voters. Every report I've seen indicates that there is a huge increase in voter registration, and that a majority of these folks are planning to vote Democratic.

5. You are exactly on point. Any poll which does not account for the |

Dems getting an unusually strong, if not unprecedented, number of votes from new voters and "unlikely" voters is not going to give you very useful information. IOW, if the polls are exactly tied on election day, Kerry will win comfortably.

should mean 3-4 points. As long as we are in range, we should win. More than a 4 point deficit in a real poll means trouble.

8. Thanks for the heads up |

but this happened before Edwards came on stage. A few of the local pols got up and spoke before Edwards arrived and it was the mayor who asked the crowd for the show of hands.

I choked up when those university kids ran and got HUGE Kerry/Edwards signs to hold in front of the "This is Bush Country" banner.
