If Kerry gets eight years
That's eight years of Big Dog,
fours years of Shrub,
and Eight years of Kerry, for a total of
four years in the Previous twenty with a Republican President.
We could restore the USSC to a semblance of integrity.
We could blow the Raygun Retrogression out of the water.
Don't give up.

1. and think of it this way....
if Kerry gets 8 years, it is less likely that the neo-cons will ever regain their strength to unleash their unwholesome ideaology on the world again.

2. Kerry's experience as a prosecuter and investigator of corruption
will come in handy.

3. umm, still MUCH work to be done
the repugs will still control the house and most likely the senate. in 2006, the "in" party usually loses ground, so repugs most likely will retain control of both houses of congress for the next 4 years.

if we're VERY lucky, we'll make some ground up in 2008, but most likely, congress will by in repug hands throughout kerry's 8 years.

the repug senate will most likely block "liberal" justices, so most likely, kerry will be able at best to appoint moderate justices.

of course, repugs still control many state legislatures, governorships, and of course, the media.

there is MUCH work left to be done. if all we have is the presidency, then all we will accomplish is to slow their progress.

6. Imagine a Kerry-Clinton court:
Ginsburg
Breyer
Souter
Kerry Appointee #1
Kerry Appointee #2
Kerry Appointee #3

Kennedy
Thomas
Scalia

With this election, I can see us dominating the US Supreme Court for at least 20 years. We can do it.

7. how long can ginsburg last?
she might just leave prematurely just to ensure a democrat gets to appoint her successor.

8. Yeah.. I debated taking her off..
She has the whole cancer history thing going on..

I think she's good for another 5 to 10 years, if she doesn't have a relapse.

Let's hope that a President Kerry will nominate healthy, ultra-liberal 40somethings with no intentions of retiring until they reach 80.. lol..

10. My Kerry Wishlist:

* Decent Health care for all Americans

* Improved access to education and a futuristic upgrade of the educational system with improved incentives to teachers and increased emphasis on Head Start and other programs.

* Serious investigation into Peak Oil and a quest for solutions to energy problems of the 21st Century

* Broad-band Internet initatives that mandate access for everyone

* An improved all-volunteer military with strong economic and educational incentives.

* Improved diplomacy with other countries with America becoming a major voice for cooperation, solutions, and peace.

* Declare a moratorium on Empire Building and replace it with a massive effort to stem the growing crisis of diminishing resources before it provokes conflicts and wars.

* Create a general resources policy theory that will help to stem the massive, disproportionate spending on the Military Industrial complex and encourage a more balanced and intelligent appropriation.

* Realize the negative impact that poverty has on the population at large and de-emphasize the marginalization of lower classes with a shift away from the Machiavellian Protestant work ethic view.

* Balance the budget and revolutionize the economy by shifting away from the Federal Reserve and its banking interests.

* Democratize the media and divest the conglomerates behind it.

* Transform the electoral process and revamp the voting system

* Repeal the Patriot Act and replace it with something that is not contrary or threatening to the Constitution. An Anti-fear bill not anti-rights? Assure that any declared state of emergency will not endanger the Constitution and allows for its preservation and impact.

* Reform laws of incorporation and stem the growing inverse ratio of corporate rights versus civil and personal rights.

* Deal with America's penchant for WMD's and begin the process of making the World safe from becoming a nuclear theater.

* End the war on drugs and limit penalties for victim-less crimes in an effort to reverse the high, and disproportionate, incarceration rate in America. Use the drugwar funds for education, jobs, and rehab.

* Overhall the FCC into a protector of the public interest, rather than the corporate interests.
