I have no proof. Think about it though, this is where bush* scores and you can bet the alerts will be coming hot and heavy. Rove knows well that we have nothing to fear except TERROR ALERTS SECURITY MOMS TERROR TERROR TERRROR. Two weeks of this and it could truly have a detrimental affect. Brace Yourselves DUers.

2. Any of that crap now, and it will look really bad for Chimpy. People
were really pissed during the dem convention when they did this shit.

And if there were to be a 'attack', guess who would get the blame? It won't be Kerry, he's not in charge of this mess.

4. Agreed.
* knew of 9/11.

He HAS to do his end. With the last 3 years of cajoling, another attack would prove him incompetent.

3. After the last one,
no one believes them anymore. Everybody called them on it as being politically motivated and they haven't had one since. But, they are desperate, so who knows.

6. If the alerts come right before election day
The Pukes will stay home and duct tape their windows, while the Dems will go out and vote in huge numbers. It'd be a bad move for Rove.

8. That was my thinking, but Rove is desperate. Read this:
Rove had to trim his hopes for realigning party politics because of the way the president handled Iraq, and because Bush made little effort on issues, such as the environment, that might have attracted more traditionally Democratic constituencies. Instead, Bush catered to conservatives on everything from support for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage to constant talk about tax cuts. The main critique of the Rove strategy, from inside and outside his party, is that the White House governed in a divisive way, when Bush could have used his popularity following the terrorist attacks to reach out to swing voters and even to African Americans.

10. Of course they were divisive... its the PNAC way.
Everything is there in that Sept. 2000 document to see. "Leadership" by way of belligerence and intimidation. They've followed Wolfie's document and this is the obvious result of what happens when you try to bully a group of people.

So fuck you Rove, you made your shit bed, now lay in it.

He designed this strategy. He has to live with it, whether he likes it or not.

7. If there are, I think we should overreact to them in a big way.
LTTE, media, etc. so that the other side gets overconfident.

And stays home out of fear...

9. DON'T YOU REMEMBER
...those geographically challenged CHECHEN rebels who came across the Mexican border to do harm to our schools? It was a quick blip in the paper. The CD they supposedly found in Iraq with diagrams of schools in five or six states?

That's the plan, I swear. Idiots, assholes.

Terrists comin ta git us! http://www.sundaytimes.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,7034,11085314%255E401,00.html

11. And you saw how the press freaked out and 'security moms'
were all over the local news channels. I put absolutely nothing past these thugs. Hey, bush* just lied about Osama in the debates and the ENTIRE FUCKING MEDIA practically ignored it; instead focusing on the cheney kid.

14. That is a probability...
Here's Bush's approval rating & terror alerts picture

but I believe that people & parents were pissed off about false terror alerts about schools a while ago? I don't think they will try that again but I may be wrong.

19. Dust off this May article and recirculate it
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/171522_draft01.html

WASHINGTON -- The chief of the Selective Service System has proposed registering women for the military draft and requiring that young Americans regularly inform the government about whether they have training in niche specialties needed in the armed services.

The proposal, which the agency's acting Director Lewis Brodsky presented to senior Pentagon officials just before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, also seeks to extend the age of draft registration to 34 years old, up from 25.

The Selective Service System plan, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, highlights the extent to which agency officials have planned for an expanded military draft in case the administration and Congress would authorize one in the future.

"In line with today's needs, the Selective Service System's structure, programs and activities should be re-engineered toward maintaining a national inventory of American men and, for the first time, women, ages 18 through 34, with an added focus on identifying individuals with critical skills," the agency said in a Feb. 11, 2003, proposal presented to senior Pentagon officials.

:grr: It's all about HEARTS AND MINDS...and you can bet there will be a "selective" draft if weewee gets another four years to ruin our country.:wow:

16. The one thing Kerry can do to defuse the phony terror alert
Mention that every time Bush is in trouble, out comes a terror alert--he ought to denounce them as too many cries of wolf.

17. Even w/o new terror alerts, Repub state and local officials are likely to
SCARE OFF substantial numbers of minority and poor voters with a huge police / immigration / militia presence at selected polling places. Jeb Bush, local officals in Jacksonville, and other pols across Florida and other key states know a stare from a cop can turn some of his previous victims on their heels before they even can enter a polling place. People want to vote, but being hassled by armed officers can be dangerous to your health.

Add a couple of "alerts" and these pols will be able to escalate their vote-shaving: Bomb threats will be announced, selected polling places will be shut down early "for security reasons", other polling places will fail to open with no advance notice, streets will be barricaded, cars will be pulled over on the highways, etc. etc.

Jeb and company wonj't be able to resist using every nuance of their power to try to keep President Stupid from being re-defeated.
