something that's got me worried...
The Media polls keep saying that this race is neck-and-neck, yet these polls don't take into account new registrants and cellular-only voters--both of which should heavily favor Kerry.

What would happen if Kerry ended up getting a landslide, or even just 55%? I can just see the news networks saying, "This goes completely against our polls; therefore, the results must be mistaken."

I'm worried that a big win for Kerry would invite all kinds of speculation by the Media, and they'd do what they should have done in 2000 and question Kerry's right to the office. Of course, a big win for Bush would just mean that Dear Leader got a huge surge of support at the last minute, and we should all accept the results... even though the results showed California and Massachusetts going for Bush.

What does everyone think?

1. Don't worry
Be happy.

Kerry will win by ~15%. It will be such a big margin, there will be no arguing it. He will garner 300 EV, also unarguable.

Tally ho!

2. i think the media would start kissing up to Kerry and breath a sigh
of relief that chimpy is on his way out

mark my words, when Kerry wins there will be a slough of bad press for bushie since they won't have to protect their access any more

3. Problem we want to have
Don't worry- the explaination for the Kerry landslide is in your post-voter turn out, new voters, and cell phone only voters. Personally, I HOPE Repugs complain about the results- you gotta love the irony.

4. They Will Monkey With the Results

and nobody will ever even know there was a landslide for Kerry.

THAT'S WHY THE POLLS MATTER!

5. There was a big discrepency in polling and actual results in 2000
The media blamed it on people screening their calls (answering machines). That could be some of it since I don't answer the phone unless I know who it is.
