Who will THE ECONOMIST endorse?
I generally like reading the Economist because it's generally honest and much more in depth than any of the US weeklies, although I disagree with them on some economic issues.

Politically, they're Classical Liberals in the European tradition: big on civil liberties, socially and culturally liberal, economically center but somewhat right-leaning, militarily more hawkish in a Gladstonian sense.

They endorsed Bush for President and Democrats for Congress in 2000, and they endorsed Clinton twice.

Anybody know who they might pick this year? I don't know, honestly. They don't sound happy with Bush at all. Though they majorly shrilled for the war they've made clear they're unhappy with Bush's handling of the aftermath, they're deadset against secret military tribunals and the limits on civil liberties. They've slammed Bush as a "big government conservative" but at the same time they're really pro-free trade. And they've never sounded thrilled with Kerry.

My guess is Kerry. But I honestly don't know for sure. Any other Economist readers have an idea?

5. Kerry better
Because economists know Bush's economic plan works then not works; cuting tax plus job exports and reduce deficits; looking for privatizing social security with short of 2 trillions; etc.

who wants to see the economy loses 4 trillions again or credit buble
is on the way.
