Watching replay of MTP
For some reason, Russert is being reasonably fair.

8. I watched it about an hour ago
Russert really drilled DeMint. I'm not sure what shocked me more, Russert asking tough questions of a Republican or how bad DeMint was.

DeMint wouldn't answer a straight question, that's for sure.

9. Damn, I'm catching the end of this again
When is the next replay?

DeMint is pathetic. I tuned in just in time to see him stumble all over the gay teachers question. Russert appropriately asked him if he's sure he never had a gay teacher. DeMint was completely unprepared. Now he says he apologizes for the remark, but I watched the debate when he said it and there was no hesitation.

Frankly, the senatorial debates this cycle, particularly the open seats, contain some of the worst candidates I have ever seen, on both sides but especially GOP. They aren't prepared for the most basic questions, and can't articulate their views when they are prepared. Yesterday I saw a program in which a Colorado reporter said he questioned Pete Coors regarding the national debt, and Coors had no idea where the debt stood.
