2. Hey we're talking about Indiana the home of Dan Quayle
My apologies if I offend anyone from Indiana but outside of the Chicago suburbs common sense seems to be in short supply in that state.

4. When they don't use the words "imbecile" or "moron" in the story, there's
a good chance they'll back him.

5. What a ringing endorsement!

<SNIPPED>

That's when the president's vulnerabilities began to surface. He accepted flawed intelligence about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction, and when the truth became known, stubbornly refused to acknowledge it. A little more than two months after the war started, he flew to an aircraft carrier in the Pacific and gave Americans the impression the war was all but over. More than 940 of the nearly 1,100 American casualties in the war have occurred since the "Mission Accomplished" sign was displayed on the flight deck of that aircraft carrier.

The task of rebuilding Iraq was poorly planned, and the lack of a coherent approach has been sharply criticized by thoughtful stalwarts of the president's own party, including Indiana's senior U.S. senator, Richard Lugar.

The president adamantly refuses to listen to those who question him. He has insulated himself from voices he doesn't want to hear and suggests that those who question his Iraq policies are playing into the hands of the enemy.

Meanwhile, the president, who now labels John Kerry the master of flip-flops, played politics with steel tariffs, presided over an economic policy that is producing huge budget deficits, and expanded Medicare into one of the more expensive social programs ever known. He has mocked his critics, and in the process has proved to be a divider rather than a unifier, feeding the growing national tendency for Americans to work against, rather than with, each other in developing solutions to common problems.

LMAO!!!!!! The Star says, "It is time for experience and resolve, which is why George Bush should be re-elected for a second term." So, like all the papers (including the Chicago Tribune) that have endorsed Bush, the Star says we should reelect the monster because of his "resolve." But the editorial lists all the disastrous results of Bush's said "resolve." So WHY IN THE HELL would we put him back in office when he's obviously resolved to continue running this nation into the ground? They are saying America needs someone who will stay the course, yet they list a whole litany of changes Bush needs to make in a second term. Why the hell do they think he will change? Let's face it, folks. These few tepid, unenthusiastic endorsements for Bush are bought and paid for by the RNC.

This stuff is laughable.

6. So this is the logic:
Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 10:34 PM by ocelot
I totally screw up my job, cost my company millions of dollars, piss off most of its customers and cause its stock to tank, and then when my boss threatens to fire me I save my job by arguing that since I'm the one who screwed everything up in the first place, they need to keep me around to fix the problem. Yeah, like that's gonna work in *my* world. Jeezus.

7. Exactly!
Bush hasn't accomplished ANYTHING positive in this country. He has accomplished NOTHING, not in America or abroad. His miserable policies have left a wake of fear and desolation affecting the lives of millions of people. There is not a single damn good thing to say about this man. So, naturally, editorials supporting Bush will all look like this one -- void of logic and reason, echoing Bush's plea for us to "trust him." What was it he said before? "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... you... eh.... you can't get fooled again."

We're not being fooled again, Mr. President. And no matter how much you pay these editorial boards to endorse you, it's obvious from their criticism that they will whore for you, but they aren't fooled by you either.
