So Jeb is saying that the hurricanes will prevent Repukes
from turning out to vote! He said they have more important things to do than worry about voting. Does this mean he is afraid he can't steal the election again in Florida?

For a link, my local news just said this. If you need a link, let me know.

Jeb Bush denies presidential ambitions on Sunday talk show

BY MARY ELLEN KLAS

Knight Ridder Newspapers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - (KRT) - Gov. Jeb Bush, in a rare national television interview, used his strongest words to date to shoot down any suggestion he will run for president in 2008, regardless of the outcome of the Nov. 2 election.

(snip)

``I mean, we have done everything we can to make sure that people have access to register to vote and that we've made it easy for people to vote,'' Bush said. ``We learned from the lessons of 2000.''

Interviewed Saturday in Fort Lauderdale as he campaigned with President Bush, the governor predicted victory for his brother, but noted turnout may be affected by the hurricanes.

``The hurricanes hit some places that are bedrock Republican areas, and these folks are really hurting,'' he said. ``And a lot of people don't consider politics their first priority right now.''

2. No, this is part of the plan.
Gives the needed excuse for the Florida legislature to select its own slate of Republican Electors.

19. Which was a plan in 2000 if Gore had won Fl. which we all know
he really did. Jeb was going to make sure Fl. went to the chimp no matter the outcome, and he will do whatever it takes this time to ensure the same result, ie Fl's EV for his slimy bro.

5. They have 16 days
I think they can find an hour to drop by a polling place. Anybody can vote early, right?

6. I think it is more a case of
"Nothing to see here. Move along, now!" All while he pulls the strings and steals the election. Again.

7. A ton of FL papers endorsed Kerry
and even the Tampa Tribune, which didn't endorse Kerry, wrote a LONG editorial saying they CAN'T endorse weewee either. It's a really good editorial (it is on LBN in one of the endorsement threads) and provides useful talking points to craft arguments against any GOP questions--worth looking at.

I think they are praying for victory, trying to cheat, and preparing for defeat. You know that pesky saying: The people, united, will never be defeated!

8. Haha!
This crossed my mind a few weeks ago.. the areas hit were largely more Republican than Democratic. What if Cleetus Q Publik is living several hours away with relatives/lovers and is unable to drive three hours to locate his proper polling place?

14. Heh this is extremely funny!
I didn't know the hurricanes did some damage to 'heavily Republican areas'. Well well, Maybe there is a God after all.

Well, I hope Ole Jebby sweats bullets on Election Day. They're going to have to be very busy disenfranchsing voters '

Cuz they'ze got some making up to do.

16. Early on,
the jebster promised his bro that Florida was his for the taking. We are hurting down here due to the hurricanes, but not enough to abandon our boys in Iraq.

FEMA has poured more money into this state than they did after Andrew AND Opal. In my area, they have been knocking on the door informing people of "free" money, food stamps, re-reimbursement for generators (even tho we had power after four days,) lost wages, evacuation costs.

The FDLE (which can only be called into an investigation by the Gov or the Lt Gov) has been investigating "voter fraud" in Orlando in the black community. Midnight visits telling the elderly if they vote absentee that they might be prosecuted for voter fraud.

In my county, a Republican candidate and her committee sent out 1800 letters to second home owners advising them to split their homestead into he-she and have one member of the family vote in Florida or their taxes would go up. An editorial by the local newspaper brought no investigation into voter fraud.

The Jebster is desperate.

Now, with the majority of FL Newspapers endorsing Kerry, God Help Us.

18. I agree - Lord knows what the jeb will try again ...
You should start a thread with the info on voter fraud you have so other DUers can be made aware of these attempts.

Thanks - my prayers are with the folks in FL - hurricanes, jeb & now panic about losing the state to dems
