Everyone agrees scrub is an idiot, but...
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 04:39 AM by rpannier
Pretty much everyone (including many who are planning to vote for scrub) thinks scrub is an idiot. But, they prefer his steady hand in the war on terror (Translation: He doesn't waver from his strategy even when it is an obvious failure). They'd rather have a man who is consistantly wrong than someone who is willing to explore the many options available before making a reasoned decision.
Kind of makes you wonder what the hell went wrong.

1. I imagine they don't think

about how that applies to the Football. He has a device available to him at all times. It allows him to launch a nuclear attack. He has a pre-emptive fetish, as we know.

So, considering the logic you related, if he gets it in his mind to push the button, (so close, so tempting) he will do it decisively and nobody will stop him or will be able to change his mind.

Stomp and jump at the end of the world. Do the Armageddon!

6. No POTUS has that kind of authority.
The actual launching of nukes is a bit more complicated than that. Only if the USA is already under nuclear attack is he able to give the launch order by himself. It isn't like in the movies.

2. They confuse stubbornness with strength.

adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines."

3. His steady hand has the problem as bad as it is in Iraq
If he would change his poistion a little to realize that things are NOT (I repeat NOT) going as well in Iraq as the pretty picture he keeps painting.
There for NO I do not agree with that statement and those who do are just as big an idiot at the shrub.
If they vote him into office, they get what they deserve.

4. Well bf heard this one the other day
BF got into a discussion with a Bushie. I wasn't there so this is as it was related to me. The guy thinks * is an idiot and doesn't like his policy, but is going to vote for him anyway. He thinks that it sends the message to the world that we are so committed to fight the war on terror that we are willing to re-select this idiot. I think bf just walked away, but I think the only appropriate response would have been "You, sir, are a fucking idiot just like *" At least, that's what I would have said.

I'd wager a guess that this man hasn't been outside the country since the Iraq invasion.

5. Ignorance paralyzes...
At least half of the American people are like deer in the headlights. They are frozen with panic and do not know how to act. They have to know that Bush is an idiot... but he's THEIR idiot.

They simply cannot imagine changing course now that Bush/RoveCo. have so successfully brainwashed them into believing that Zarqawi lurks in their bedroom closets and is ready to slit their throats at a moment's notice.

Fear mongering has worked for the diabolical bunch in the white house... plus, they have the full cooperation of the media.

This election will certainly separate the "wheat from the chaff". Those who blindly follow a known psychopath for fear of change vs. those who know we are headed to hell in a handbasket and see Kerry as our LAST and ONLY hope for redemption.

My last, best hope is that there are just enough sane people left in this country to counteract the ignorant and self-deluded fear fanatics.
