Remember 1994 and the Contract For America?
The Republicans rode a wave on false promises and negative campaigns to gain control of our government. It took a while for Democrats to learn how to fight back. I think that America has seen enough of the Republicans to know that what they promise is not what they deliver.

This election could swing things back to our side. Once the Republicans gained control of the government the extremists in their party started coming out of the woodwork. Numerous sex scandals involving Republicans have come to light over the last 10 years, examples of racism are numerous (Trent Lott, John Ashcroft's statements to the Skinhead mag in Texas, Charles Pickering, Bush's stand against Affirmative Action), corporate scandals and favoritism involving Republicans (Halliburton, Harken, Enron, Bechtel, Delay and the Indian tribes/casinos, and on and on). How can people still view the Republicans as a "moral" party?

Let's hope that we can use this election to win back control of the government and right the wrongs that these crooks have perpetrated on our citizens.

1. I Remember the Contract ON America
It got Gingrich thrown out, and Clinton sworn in twice. Now the GOP doesn't put such incriminating evidence on paper anymore.

3. Remember Watergate?
This underhanded crap goes back even further than that. It's really an interesting thing to dig through... all these names keep reappearing in various places...

One might ask: "Don't they ever learn?"
The answer is: "No."

4. Ashcroft and Skinheads
Sorry to interrupt - what comments did Ashcroft make to a skinhead magazine? I have never heard anything about this, would like more info. I did a search on Google and in DU itself, couldn't find anything. Thanks.
