"Bush is going to win so Dems shouldn't bother to vote!!!" |
|
I think this is today's strategy by the media and the right. Push these bogus polls showing Bush ahead to try to get the Democrats down.
Problem is that it won't work. Maybe in 2000, but not now.

speak to us from across the Atlantic. I am SO embarrassed for our country, and for the fact that this election even looks close. If that @&*#)($^ is put back in office again, I'm going to swim across the ocean to make my escape!

5. Thanks! We're trying hard but still need all the good luck we can get. |
|
If anyone had told me just five years ago that this could happen here, I would've thought he was crazy. **sigh** These next two weeks will be the longest of our lives.
Keep those good wishes coming and don't give up on us, yet! :hi:

8. That strategy won't work anymore, if it ever did. |
|
This election, that's just going to make people all over the country more determined than ever to make certain their votes count and Junior is sent packing back to Texas (and God help us here in Texas!).

Then it'll sink in that nobody is going to truck all the way out to Crawford just to see him, so he'll move -- hopefully, out-of-state. If Texas were to go blue this election (I can dream!), he might leave sooner out of pique and find a redder state to settle in. Utah can have him. It has only four letters in its name. He'll learn to spell it faster than he learned to spell Texas, don't you think? He'll be very comfortable there. ;)

9. That strategy will back fire on those idiots! |
|
Instead of making dems stay home, it will make them more determined to get out to vote and to get everyone they know to vote.
End results: Kerry/Edwards in a landslide!

I have a few who believe that CNN is "credible" and don't understand the polling bias of Gallup. . . .I am gonna have a long frank talk w each of them and make sure they drag their sorry depressed butts to the polls and vote for Kerry, no matter how hopeless CNN tells them it is/

16. Been Saying This The Entire Race |
|
I have been saying this to friends and family throughout all of 2004. To watch out for Bush people trying to manufacture such poll numbers that it may appear to large numbers of democrats that Kerry could not recover from and then, become dejected and depressed and adapt a "What For" attitude and just skip standing in line at the polls. I think we are seeing this right now but I also think Bush and company are far too stupid to actually think such a sophomoric and extremely old political trick is going to work. In fact it just might have the opposite effect. That is energizing even larger numbers of democrats and swing voters to stand in line. Go Kerry/Edwards. I have already voted by absentee ballot.

Seems to me that all the polls (except Zogby) had Bush ahead going into gameday. Didn't seem to supress the vote though. I think it's actually more motivational when your guy is a bit behind. Yeah, some voters climb on the winner bandwagon, but I think if we were ahead, I'd be more worried some Dems might stay home or might pull that lever for he who shall not be named (that former consumer advocate-turned-GOP lapdog). If we're tied or slightly behind, I think the motivation will be on FIRE!
