Bush spent his Sunday behind doors with his strategists.... |
|
And this morning, we get a hint of what they discussed. Mr Bush is on his way to NJ to give a speech. Coincidentally, it is within the shadows of the former WTC buildings. So what do you think Mr Bush will discuss? And why would NJ be the first stop after their Sunday of strategizing? New York would have been just as obvious.
So, they plan on running on 9/11 primarily for the rest of the campaign. And the fears and paranoia they have been able to manipulate from that disaster. They consider that their "strength".

4. Saturday, I was travelling through NW New Jersey and... |
|
I saw one home with Kerry signs and many more Bush-Cheney signs. I think that they have support in the boonies. How close they are to Kerry-Edwards in New Jersey is a mystery to me but I don't see many Bush-Cheney signs even in my Republican enclave of Morris County. (Many of our residents fit the $200,000 and above category, drive gigantic SUVs, send their kids to private schools, and belong to private golf clubs dotted around the area.)
However, more and more democrats who haven't been seen on a prior campaign are volunteering to knock on doors, make phone calls and write postcards this year than ever before. I think that Bush will get his sorry ass handed to him if they get to vote.
I will personally be driving people to the polls (which I have never done before.)

5. Not "within the shadow" of the WTC by a longshot |
|
The people he will be speaking to are in a strong Repug town in south jersey that is a suburb of Phillie, where he really wants his message to be heard while pretending to be campaigning in NJ, just as he did in 2000 when he campaigned in NJ and California just before the election to give the impression that he was so confident in victory that he wanted to go into Dem states to make his "victory" even more convincing.
I live in the "shadow" of the WTC in New Jersey. I used to be able to see it from my upstairs windows at night on a clear night. He won't come anywhere near Hudson, Bergen or Essex Counties, those closest to the WTC. Where he is speaking the only things with shadows are cows.
