Kerry speech :implying that Bob Graham would have admin seat
from a recent speech in Florida and in today's St Pete Times...

snip

Also joining Kerry in South Florida were members of the Congressional Black Caucus, who have been traveling across the state to urge voters to cast ballots before Nov. 2, and retiring Sen. Bob Graham and his wife, Adele.

Implying that Graham would have a place in a Kerry administration, Kerry noted that Graham "before anybody else" had warned that invading Iraq would be a diversion from fighting al-Qaida in Afghanistan.

"I've got news for you folks. He may be retiring from the United States Senate," Kerry said of Graham, "but if you help me become president, I'm not going to let him retire from service to this country."

1. That's a master stroke right there.
Graham is very popular in Florida. If word of a possible appointment gets out, that will probably bring out more of the base, at the very least.

4. For Shame, Kerry
"not going to let him retire from service to this country"

don't you know forced labor is illegal? ;)

I've long thought Bob Graham would make an excellent National Security Advisor. He was the only one smart enough to see Iraq as a diversion. He's a big time hawk and I'm a little surprised Kerry hasn't used him before (aside from addressing the convention) to help bolster his security credentials.

Of course, Graham has like ZERO charisma and some really bizarre habits.

7. That was my thought. Remember, too
That Graham began campaigning because he said the president was hiding the real story over 9-11, and that the only way Graham thought he could get the truth out was to get elected. He saw the documents Bush classified. I'd love to have someone with integrity in a position to reinvestigate, or at least to declassify, those documents.
