Better to do early voting or absentee voting?
I don't know if the early voting is a computer vote or not. It was once, in the past. If it is, it will not have a printing feature, I'm sure (this is Texas, after all).

But absentee votes are easy to do fraud with (it's easy to throw 'em away, or they get "lost," or thrown out for technical imperfection).

So....which to do, do you think? Early voting has started here! I'm eager! But I also have application to send in to get the absentee ballot.

I think early voting, no matter what type of voting it is. What do you think?

1. You actually need a reason for absentee voting....
But early voting was set up for the convenience of the voter.

In Harris County, early & regular voting will both be electronic, I believe. But absentee ballots do go astray....

2. Some states don't require much in the way of proof when
you ask for an absentee ballot. There's a whole long list in SC for "reasons' you need, but they don't demand you have proof or anything.

3. I voted today early . . .
I'm in California. I voted electronically with the new (not diebold) system. It took me a long time to decide too. I went back and forth. When I asked what happens to the paper absentee ballot, I was told it too is scanned into a computer before the final tally. I felt it was better to just make sure my vote was put into the system myself as the paper ballot could be "lost" or mis-scanned.

I still don't understand why each voter does not get a receipt like at an ATM showing how one voted--for peace of mind and for backup. It's all very unnerving!! Good luck with your decision!

I voted Kerry-Edwards by the way! :toast:
