Sorry but we LOSE this election unless we tell the truth to America....
If more and more Americans are thinking that Bush would be better at fighting terrorism, then they deserve to know the truth which is not being told to them! Attacks on America are necessary in order to continue the initiative of fighting the big war to take over the Middle East and its natural resources. This may sound far-fetched except for the fact that it is spelled out in the PNAC documentation which is signed onto by key members of the Bush administration. We need to:

Expose PNAC the way it is done in "Hijacking Catastrophe" together with:
Point out that the Bush admin was sleeping at the wheel during 9/11
Point out that invading Iraq has energized the terrorists and drawn al-Qaida and others into Iraq, in addition to turning more Iraqis against the U.S.
Point that the Bush admin is putting much more effort into "securing the Middle East" than reversing America's dependence on foreign oil.

If we don't start telling the truth, then I'd hate to be here in November saying I told you so. If we don't start telling the truth, then I can only assume that there is some underlying agenda by the DNC/DLC for 2008.

2. Air America was sayng exactly that yesterday night.
All your points were covered. So it is out there. I don't think the Kerry Campaign should bluntly address this Let others do it. And BTW, we are NOT losing, and we WILL win!

6. I hope you are right.
Many are not optimistic down here at the campaign. If people are stupid enough to vote for Bush, then I will seriously consider moving to Canada I will NEVER forgive them. Sorry. I feel like shit.

7. Thanks for posting the reality check, Cat.
I started to just blow this off as another in a long line of 'we're going to lose unless everyone does what I say' posts.

Glad I ducked in for a moment...:hi:

17. I appreciate what Air America is doing and I am an avid listener...
but they are only now beginning to expand into the traditionally conservative radio market. I don't think this message is getting out to the vast number of voters. Do we have time for this message to spread by word of mouth?

3. a positive spin
Bush IS going to lose because we have been telling the truth to America. Democrats will outvote republicans this year, and I believe we have the majority of independents.

18. The Kerry campaign just sent out a email saying Colorado was winnable
And they are investing lots of dollars to win.It can't be as bad as you say as they are working with more insider info. Believe me if they didn't think it was close, they would pullout, not pump it up. Keep up the work we are winning Colorado!

5. First of all WE ARE NOT LOSING THE ELECTION
As long as there is a large voter turnout we will win big

The new Democratic registrations are at record levels. This is a big deal

The 18-24 year olds will go with us, as will most of the undecided

The republicans know this and are doing everything to discourage and demoralize us. As long as there is a large turnout John Kerry will win big, mark my words

Most of the issues you have mentioned have already been exposed, but the media only wants to talk about Mary Cheney, and O'Reilly

On November 3, I will tell you that John Kerry will be our next president, and this just isn't wishful thinking

12. I agree that the PNAC issue has been exposed.....
but I can almost assure you that for the vast majority of voting Americans it has not sunk in, or they have ignored it. A very poignant 527 commercial could work wonders!

10. All of this has been discussed over and over on DU......
... since December 2000.

The truth is being told because some of that information is slowly making its way into the mainstream press.

The problem is that the mainstream press is owned by very conservative major corporations that have vested interests in ensuring that the Chimp gets re-elected.

a couple of years ago researching some of these issues and publishing a paper on the internet. I wasn't paid for doing this and I don't have a lot of time to spare. I did the best I could.

This works. I know, because I and my friends have been at it for over 2 years now. We write our own signs, using topical information.

A huge number of cars honk. Some people, usually young ones, park and walk over and talk to us.

I have been saying to them for a few weeks now. "If you were a terrorist trying to destabilize the MidEast, whom would you be more interested in striking? Someone with decades old business and political ties in the region, like Bush? Or someone who doesn't have those ties like Kerry?

We're probably going to get hit anyway, as payback for Bush's War. The question is when and how bad will it be. I maintain the answers to those two questions will be different depending upon whom is elected.

19. Bush would have you believe that all terrorists are.....
innately evil and will strike the U.S. no matter what. There may be some truth to this, but I believe the long-term goals of the U.S. (as spelled out in documents like those published by PNAC) will have a profound effect on their willingness to attack the US hard. If we begin moving in the direction that our long-term goal is NOT to conquer and Americanize the Middle East then it may appease those who are funding terrorism, and help reduce the chances of America getting hit hard again. How much more simply can this be spelled out? We could have our cake and eat it too, in this regard, and shift resources toward homeland defense.

As for grassroots efforts like what you are describing, this is great and extremely effective if there are thousands out there just like you. I also think 527 ads are very effective. Look at what the Swift Boat Liers for Truth could achieve, and they didn't even have truth on their side.

20. Agree. Should've tagged him with the "neocon" label from the beginning.
just as they like to tag us with "liberal".

By now everyone in America should've known what a neocon is, to the point that we could just mention the word and Bush's poll numbers would drop.

The American people should know what they're voting for. It is the duty of the opposition party to point out the evils of the party in power. I don't feel we have done this.
