CBS Poll Bush 47-45
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 05:33 PM by demdem
not bad. This poll was in favor of Bush in 2000 +5. So if they are using the same formula Kerry is up +3

2. Get this--the Washington Post "sunset" poll
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 05:33 PM by scmirage
has Kerry down 1 but * unchanged. So WTF happened to that 1%? Does that make any sense? Screw the polls. Except, and I quote from Keith Olbermann's daily newsletter, "And Kerry holds a significant lead in 13 battleground states, 53 to 43, according to the Washington Post poll.":bounce:

9. Correct, the Bush percentage is all I'm looking at
Not the margin. More undecideds the better. They'll embrace Kerry at the end.

Bush figures to receive within 1% of his final poll average, up or down. I'm desperate to keep Bush's average perentage in the reliable polls at 48% or lower. Also his average approval rating in the same range.

And Bush's approval rating is 44 percent. Incumbents never get a higher percentage than their approval rating as a vote percentage.

4. And that poll has a 4 point Margin of Error.
So tied, basically.

But really, Kerry will kick butt on November 2nd.

8. Bush Approval ratings in the low 40's - Hahahahaha
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 05:37 PM by unfrigginreal
The good news for President Bush in the latest CBS News/New York Times poll is the razor-thin lead he gets in the horserace.

The bad news in the poll is that his approval rating is in the low 40s, more Americans feel the country is on the wrong track and more voters dislike him than like him.

John Kerry also has higher "unfavorable" than "favorable" ratings. The question is whether Kerry's marks matter in a campaign that is largely about Mr. Bush's performance.

In the CBS/NYT survey, Mr. Bush leads Kerry 47-45 among likely voters, with Ralph Nader taking 2 percent.

------------

CBS is the only other poll to correctly call the 2000 race for Gore.

12. this was like Carter in 1980
only his approval was around the upper 30's, but he lead Reagan by more than Bush leads Kerry now.

to have Kerry's unfavorability higher than his favorability.

14. under 50
According to a lengthy piece in the LA Times today, pollsters generally agree that an incumbent's final poll figures are what he will get in the elction .. i.e., last minute undecideds never vote for the incumbent, only the challenger. If Bush remains under 50% by election day,
it will be almost impossible for him to win the popular vote.

16. This poll is INCREDIBLY good news!
at least 52% disapproval for monkey-boy on foreign affairs, the economy and Iraq. Terror approval down to 55%.

And Bush favors big corporations over average people 59%!
