Just voted...long lines..they were checking first time voters.. |
|
..and making a list of them here in Texas. LOTS of first time voters and I'll be interested to see the statistics. What a great feeling!

4. I could be wrong, but.... |

I think that all first time voters in TX have to prove identity instead of just coming in with their registration card. If I'm wrong, hopefully another TX DUer will set me straight.

2. Good for you. I'm voting early too, but haven't yet. |
|
Were they writing down people's names on their list and, if so, I wonder why. Don't they sign in when they vote? I have a feeling Bush is going to be in for a very big surprise on Nov 2nd. He really is a uniter thought; the entire world has united against him.

3. Don't let them intimidate people ANYWHERE! Vote sooner than later |
|
I really hope we can see a monumental tidal wave against Bush. Wouldn't it be great if they listened too much to their own lying sycophants and thought it was actually going to be close. DOHH!!

if you havent voted in like 2 elections you get scrubbed from the rolls.
i think you just need you voter card but no ID
if you dont have the card i think you need ID
i have always found voting very easy in my area and the workers really keen on allowing people to vote.

9. First time voters need ID |
|
because of HAVA. Either a photo ID, govt check, utility bill or one of about a zillion other things with your name on it. Cal lyour county to get the list from them, I think it varies a bit fom plac to place. If you've voted in the same county before you shouldn't need ID.
If you have no ID you get a provisional ballot and the county figures out later if it counts or not.
Procedures are different this election because of HAVA.

..they did not ask for extra ID (he had his card) from the first time voters..they would say "Are you a first time voter, Mr. X" and the person would say yes and they had a list titled "First Time Voters" and they added their name and card number.
My hubby is a first timer, they didn't ask for anything more than I gave and I'm a regular.
