Duval County Florida needs help. Only one polling place in
big democratic area for early voting.

From America Coming Together, www.actforvictory.com

Early voting started in Florida today -- the battleground-of-all-battlegrounds -- and this morning, ACT-Florida launched a massive state-wide blitz. All day long, hundreds of our canvassers went door-to-door. We'll be back at it early tomorrow morning and every day for the next two weeks.

But in Duval County, home to the 840 square mile city of Jacksonville, the challenge ahead of us is great. There is exactly one Early Vote site open here and, as reported in last week's Washington Post, it is located miles from most of the majority Black precincts.

ACT's canvassers and fleet of vans are spread thin trying to compensate for this suppression by Florida Republicans. We need to put more canvassers on the streets of Jacksonville right away to drive voters to the polls.

Please help us get voters of Duval County to the polls. $75 contributed now will field another canvasser to help elect Democrats in federal, state and local elections.

Please contribute to fund ACT's work in Duval County.

www.actforvictory.com

Outrage is already spreading across the community causing Republican Secretary of State Glenda Hood to announce that the state will add another 2-4 early vote sites in the area, but she's given no indication of when.

As early vote continues, Republicans are stalling. The clock is ticking, every second counts. Please help ACT-Florida today by donating now.
It's important to remember that in 2000, 27,000 Duval county ballots were thrown out, the majority of them from heavily Democratic black precincts.

Please help ACT-Florida make sure it doesn't happen again. Travel to Florida to join us on the ground - we need everyone we can get. Signup now at www.acthere.com .

Thank you for everything you do - and everything you will do.

3. In Minnesota in 2002, there were long lines to vote for
Senator because the local election officials were told that since there was a supplemental ballot, they needed to read instructions to each voter.

Some people couldn't wait on line that long and went home.

If everyone who showed up had voted, maybe Walter Mondale would have won.

5. Man , you should have seen those angry freeps today!
I still don't see anything about them in the local paper.

They yelled, "Go away!" and "We don't want you here!"

8. Downtown Jacksonville
They would say it because:

1. They are angry, as always.
2. They are scared (good reason to be).
3. They are assholes.

They also keep ripping out K/E signs down and throwing them away.

I found two blowing around the street today.

I can't believe these yahoos only opened one polling place. Then again, why am I not surprised?

Glenda and Jeb better get their act together quick, cause there are going to be a lot of really pissed off Floridians and this time the riots won't be staged, they will be real.

-Dem-Bumpersticker on it.

Our local dem head had his house egged twice, and , as a former Marine, was harassed by some bigmouths in a parking lot.

13. Isn't Corrine Brown the representative
from Duval County? With all her outrage about the voting snafus in 2000 ...I would think she would be someone to help with that.
