1. Perhaps we should wait until November 3rd to consider this.
I don't think now's the time.

6. What?
I said what if? Can you not handle hypotheticals? I fully support Kery and my site has endorsed him. I have also personally worked for him. What can you not handle about an honest question.

5. There are things I like about Gore, but I don't thnk he's a very good
candidate. He's made some great speeches lately, but when he is under the gun of competition in a campaign, he stiffens up like a serious board. That just won't win a national election.

7. Nope. If the worst happens, it's Dean's turn.

He's earned it. But, I'm pulling hard for Kerry. We're going to win!

8. not only no, but hell no.
he could not run anymore, given how fiery he has gotten lately. (don't read this the wrong way- i like him much better now that he's passionate). however, it would not be politically expediant.

edwards, dean, etc. would be a much better option. sorry.

11. As a hypothetical
I don't think its a bad question. But I'm debating right now whether, if, god forbid, Kerry Edwards should lose this time, will it still be worthwhile to be a democrat. Should I join the Greens and devote the rest of life to more extreme opposition to this radical corrupt crowd.

16. Hell no; Gore is perceived as a loser and a bit of a joke
Don't flame me. I wrote perceived, not here or by me but among the voting block who will decide the 2008 election. Kerry's re-election, I might add.

When I talked to people about Kerry this summer, around the country while I was traveling, occasionally I injected Gore's name as a test. You would not believe how often the first response was a burst of laughter. It would be suicidal to nominate Al Gore.

I will not blame Kerry if he loses. Opposing an incumbent is an uphill unlikely chore, never emphasized or weighed enough here on DU. We are slight underdogs for a reason. Unless the incumbent's approval rating is pathetic he wins.

But I will always blame Al Gore for 2000, regardless of the Florida realities. We clutched every advantage then and Gore had zero clue had to utilize them. He turned what should have been a routine win into a cliffhanger, then a loss. One incompetent move after another, including abandoning Clinton and also Ohio. We just witnessed how impossible it should have been to drop 3 straight debates to GW Bush.
