MSN Homepage: Bush leads in 3 of 4 polls |
|
www.msn.com
First of all, I really don't care about the polls. However, I HATE the way the media tries to create false momentum -- which (conveniently) is always in Bush's favor.
Their 4 polls are: ABC (LV), Newsweek (LV), Gallup (LV) and Zogby.
Rasmussen? The Economist? Democracy Corps? No -- apparently none of these exist, or at least they are not one of their "official" polls.
Again, I know the polls are bunk, I just worry about the average Joe who turns on their computer to see that and who decides either to : (a) jump on the bandwagon; or (b) stay home.

4. Only because I worry about how others view them. |
|
I'm sick of having my friends and family give me a skeptical look every time I say that I think JK is going to win.

2. Har, har. Bush is winning in the phone polls because the Dems |
|
are already casting their votes for Kerry in the early elections and not bothering to answer their phones.
"Wormhole = Peace" and other contradictions I learned in the early 21st Century.

History has proven that whatever the incumbent has in the polls (for *, about 45-49%, excluding Gallup, which I'm not even going to consider) is almost certainly what he'll get in the election. Incumbents gain less than a percentage point, if that. If the undecideds break for Kerry, as they usually do, we should be fine.
Of course, I don't trust anything this time around.

7. It's the JOB APPROVAL RATING that counts! Here's what the nat'l polls do: |
|
They give a ballpark of the popular vote of the nation. That's all. In THIS election what's important is WHAT STATES those votes will be in. This is a contest in only about 17 or 18 battleground states!
So let's say Bush convinced more people in Texas to vote for him? Big deal. Texas was already his. What matters if Bush convinced more people in Ohio to vote for him.
SO LOOK AT THE BATTLEGROUND STATE POLLS and that all-important number for an incumbent: THE JOB APPROVAL RATING!
If * does not get over 50% in the battleground states, and stays under 50% in his job approval rating (I take all the recent polls and average them out to get the true job approval rating), then HE WILL LOSE!
