Another possible Senate upset: Hoeffel within 7 of Specter in Pa
With two weeks to go the Senate race in Pennsylvania is tightening according to a new SUSA poll.

Arlen (Magic Bullet) Specter has 48% to Joe Hoeffel's 41%, but in the last SUSA poll, Hoeffel was behind Specter by 19-points, 54-35.

This is the second poll of the day to give Dems encouragement for possible sleeper or upset victories. The other was the great news from Kentucky that Democrat Mongiando is tied with senile Bunning 43-43.

I've always felt that Pennsylvania will be a dark horse. Why? Specter has been in for six terms. People are ready for a change, just like in 2000 when long time Delaware Senator Roth was defeated. Also, Specter doesn't do as well during presidential years and Kerry, it appears to me is beginning to lock Pennsylvania, SUSA has him ahead of Bush by six points.

1. This is especially surprising, given that, from what I've seen,
Hoeffel doesn't have much of a campaign. His campaign commercials are the blandest ads I think I've ever SEEN!

The other thing that might siphon votes from Specter is Jim Clymer, the VERY conservative Libertarian candidate for Senate... I see a lot of campaign signs for him (in place of Specter signs) on lawns with Repug signs.

People who wanted the reactionary Toomey to be the nominee are going with Clymer.
